Williams with a tko in the 9th or 10th at the latest. Cintron's still solid but he's in over his head. He's tough enough to have a puncher's chance but he's meant to be the "opponent" in this fight.
Williams wins here, he and Martinez should close out 2010 like they closed out 2009 unless Pavlik actually wants a rematch.

Williams by UD. Pavlik doesnst take the rematch. Martinez and PW fight again in a classic with Martinez winning by split decision.

Cintron was knocked out by Martinez, dealt well with Angulo's pressure. Didn't do so well with Margarito's pressure though.

Seems like he'll break down like he did against Margarito.

*sigh* Fuck it......

Cintron lands something huge on Williams coming in and gets the upset ko. Watch, just leave it to that nicca to fuck up one of the most anticipated rematches of the year.:lol::lol:

Btw, did you guys catch the Montiel/Hasegawa bantam unification bout on Friday? It was a good fight:yes:

Not out of the realm of possibility. Cintron is a hitter and he's fighting at a good weight for him, so he should have his full power.

All quite true, but I don't think Williams is sleeping on him, though I did read an interview where Williams said he's going to come out the gate swinging and looking to hurt Cintron early, could be true, could be b.s. We'll see, I think this is gonna be a better fight than people think. Angulo is a pure pressure fighter and Cintron handled him pretty well.
I was just fucking around though, trying to bring some levity to the discussion.:D I'd go with Williams by stoppage if I were betting.

i would be like :angry::angry::angry::angry:

I think the whole board will be like....

:confused:Wtf just happened?

:(The fight's over?

:angry::angry::angry::angry:FUCK!!!!!!

Okay, no one predicted that. After an uneventful first couple rounds, just as Williams started to get going, the shit hits the fan. Hopefully, they get to have a rematch later.

I am I the only one shocked that Williams had to "get going":confused:.... I understand caution against a puncher, but his output was like less than half of his norm. I'm starting to think the weight fluctuations are starting to take a tow on him.:smh:

I was worried at first but he started going and connecting by the end of the third and he said in the postfight that the slow start was part of the strategy since Cintron was expecting him to come in guns blazing.
Emmanuel Steward would be a great advisor to him since he has experience with tall, world class fighters.

I'm not so sure Manny would be the best guy for Williams. I notice he does better with more jab, jab first, plodding type boxers. I do believe Steward would turn PW's right hand into a one hitter-quiter though, but he might take away from his two-fisted attack which I think almost anyone from 147 to 168 isn't be able to handle. I could see Manny getting PW over the hump against a fight like Martinez, but all and all I think he'd try to turn him into a middleweight Lennox Lewis, which might backfire for a fighter who likes to have a big punch output like PW.

I wouldn't have him be Williams number one trainer but as a second to help him fight taller and not get hit as much. Whether it's Steward or someone else, Williams needs someone to help him develop a jab so he can dispose of that pawing disguised as a jab.

a slow start is cool if you are trying to set something up, but what was he setting up? getting hit and missing. Those first two were horrible for him and the third round was okay, but if that was the plan his trainer should be fired. Why would not go in guns blazin after a tough fight? :confused:

I hope PW hasn't peaked as a fighter. Especially considering he's one of the very few solid young fighters in the welter-middle weights.

I think the nigga has flaws, but there is enough there that a good trainer could make him into a serious monster. I just don't understand why they would change the nigga's style for Cintron when there weren't any noticeable improvements.

Since, as you said, he has flaws, his team needs to be working on them. He needs to learn how to fight without getting hit so much. While I thought Cintron won the first two rounds (thinly), Williams wasn't hit with any really hard blows and was able to adjust and become more active as he and his corner saw fit.

I agree with working on him, but here's the problem I have. Williams looked sloppy.... and he was getting hit. If you are going to have Williams implementing what he learned... make sure that he is actually ready so that he doesn't get hit or have him try that shit against a cream puff, not a decent puncher.

There are no cream puffs for him to fight. He already struggles to draw now. Giving him a perceived soft opponent won't even get him on Boxing After Dark and at this point of his career, he needs high profile televised wins. He's going to get hit, the goal should be for him to get hit less.
And I have to give Cintron some credit. It wasn't just Williams trying something different but Cintron being a good boxer.

I should have said hit as much, but I feel you.

I just saying if he fought like that against Martinez or Winky he would two L's that no one would debate, but if he kept fucking around he would have a loss from Cintron...:smh:

True but he had picked up the pace by the third and looked to be too fast and reach too long for Cintron. Cintron can hang his hat on this and say "I didn't get beat", giving him at least one more HBO fight/payday.

Anyway, Williams is going to have to fuck with Martinez and flawed or not the nigga is going to have throw everything at Martinez.

He knows Martinez isn't a hitter and will be less so at middleweight, so I expect him to come harder faster. A slow start in the first round wouldn't surprise me but after that, they'll pick up where they left off.

Longer yes, faster? Not. Williams looked slow to be honest and Cintron definitely has better reflexes. To tell you guys the truth I think PWill has been getting over fighting smaller dudes, I like him but I don't see this spectacular monster that everyone acts like he is. To me dude lost to Martinez and got a gift in a 4 round "fight" against Cintron, he hasn't been very impressive lately. And I'd bet any of you cats that Floyd could beat this big ass dude if that fight ever happened.

I agree... Floyd would beat this Williams.... shit even Pac & Mosley could beat this slow reckless Williams.

I have to say, this dude Williams is looking overtyped like hell.

High punch output, long reach, but puts his head in positions to get it knocked the fuck off.

Mosley would oknock him out IMO, and mayweather wouldtag him all day. He doesn't seem like he knows how to use his advantages.
