Why we do what we do, and how we can do it better

He is real?????? I know this sound ignorant but I saw him as an extra on a movie and thought what he was doing was for a character in that movie.
Good post, I actually listened to the whole thing.

Nice post Sean. I was spending one of my last days at home with my mom this Thanksgiving weekend, and my mom heard me listening to this on my laptop and she was like is that the Robins, guy, he gets on my nerves. I explained to her what he was talking about and she had already written him off in her head.

She is definitely one of the people he was talking about that perceives things in a certain way no matter what the circumstance.

Again, good post and food for thought...

Onz, I started a thread a while back related to this titled "What drives you?"

http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?t=399781

I offered what I believed to be the three fundamental human drives - self, community and preservation/protection of self and community. And then I asked if anyone could come up with something more fundamental (that's not a subset of those 3 drives)

There were a lot of interesting responses.

I c/s Robins 100% when he said you really start to live when you faced with imminent death. And as morbid as this may sound, few are fortunate enough and blessed with the opportunity to have that.

Many people are just existing, few are really living.
