Why so much make-up

It's almost 2013, does it really take that much make-up anymore? Mean a little is alright but some out there are still going overboard. If there are spots cool, but don't start looking like a clown.

I do eyeshadow and lip gloss anything more is doing too much.

I put on black lip liner to make me look like a mexican.

I do wear at least lip gloss most days, but as far as putting on a full face of make up I dont do that unless the Mister and I are going on a date or if its a special occasion. Then I look like a toned down drag queen that raided a MAC counter.
