Painlessrisen , if Eric embarrassed as a black man. Guess what? You should also be embarrassed as a a middle aged or soon to be middle aged man (your voice comes and coco comes across that way). Did you notice that fat ass cop among them as well as the shortest one. These two I believe were the elders as well as Eric in this situation. I blame them even more. Because they should have took control of the situation. They are supposed to have the experience and wisdom that a 25 year old cop like Daniel lacks.

Ms. Solomon, isn't this gentleman entitled to his own opinion? Strange that black people fought and died for civil rights and equality but you cannot have different opnions among yourselves. I admit that there is still prejudice and racism but I know that things are a lot easier for black people now than even forty years ago.
By the way I have seen cops go after scraggly looking white guys who look out of place in all white areas.

borderbubba, I must admit you are right. I do recall viewing a story regarding a white guy in California who was perceived to be a homeless menacing repetitive theif. He was constantly being accused of breaking into cars causing the police to confront him time and time again. Don't think he was arrested., The cops would just make him leave the area each time. Unfortunately the last time they got a complaint about him they literally beat the the hell out of him causing his death. All because a head cop was sick of him disobeying his orders to stay out of the area. Little did the cops know this man was the son of a retired sheriff. The cop was sentenced to 20 years in prison. BTW the cop was Hispanic not white .

+painlessrisen Sir you appearantly live in a nice area where you dont have to worry about bullshit harassment. If you have any sense at all you would of clearly seen that the man was tired of being harassed. Have you been harassed before? Apparently not, because if you had you would of understood how this man felt. I am a young man and I live in a decent neighborhood but trust me I felt the harassment that Eric has felt. The man was not irate, he was frustrated but yet he held his hands up. What if he was selling a damn cigarette do you feel he should of been treated the way he was treated. Do you think a 25 cent cigarette is worth his life knowing that he could of been jacking your ass but instead he sold a cigarette. Brother your mentality on life is blind as fuck... To anyone else this could of happened to anyone, you can clearly see the cops were power hungry just looking for someone to fuck with. No matter what color you are or nationality no one deserves the treatment Eric received. I believe the cops should be thrown into jail and have their life taken from them.

+k lee There are good points on both sides of the argument. At the end of the day, if you deal with the police like an upstanding citizen (aka how an upstanding white person acts), you usually wont have any problems. You just have to act like you're complying. But it is fucked up how much the police harass ppl too, and I would love to see the cops lay off a bit on the little stupid bullshit that doesn't have anything to do with public safety.

Two other men were fighting and thats why the police were there in the first place. Mr. Garner broke up the fight and a few moments later cops went to him because they knew he had sold cigarrettes before but on this day he had none on him. Cops have bothered him for selling cigarrettes many time prior to this and they remembered him so thats wh they confronted him. So dont say there was lies of him breaking up a fight because he did break up a fight earlier. Get all of your facts straight before you judge what the guy did. Whenever i walked by the block on Bay Street he was always there with a smile on his face and was a great guy. What they did was wrong and he was tired of the cops confronting him meanwhile he wasnt selling cigarrettes.

great video brother, I can say as a juvenile I was stopped and questioned by police several times, but everytime it happened I was always with somebody that was selling dope or had a long police record, I was never stopped by myself. like u said its who you hang around and where u hang around not neccesarily your skin color, good video, good point of view. but im sure u will b called a uncle tom for this, lol
