Why do people in African countries have such short life spans?

I was reading country profiles on the BBC and I noticed that Africans live far shorter lives than people who live in other countries, except China. From what I've seen, on average, people in other parts of the world usually die in their late 60's to early 70's. Yet in African countries on average Africans die in their 40's. Northern African countries, such as Algeria, Tunsia and Libya are exceptions: they have life spans of about 70 years. A few other African countries' populations have life spans that extend to 55 years.

While civil wars, and famines, account for some of Africa's problems, they don't explain why African's don't live long. Africa as an export market seemingly has limitless potential. Considering Africa's vast resources, I never understood why the country is so under-developed. It almost seems that investors are willing to wait until the population diminishes to make their profits.

Most of that part of the world is underdeveloped. My guess would be lack of decent medical attention/clean water and things of that nature.

Oh PLZ that's B.S. Africa and Latin America are the riches countries when it comes to recourses. The western world namely the US and Europe etc.. they poison the Africans and instigate wars so they can steal the resources. By nature Africans are gentile civilize people. Africa has been a testing ground for many deceases namely Aids just to mention 1. Just like Puerto Rico use to be.

Yes Man:yes::yes::yes:

Not to mention the diversion of the natural waterways to large towns and cities. The crops are then stunted in growth and a lot of the diet of our people is subsidised by drinking Pepsi and desiring the Big Mac, due to the foods foraged for drying up in the ground.

Now if we are dying from eating this stuff, our people must be able to know not to eat this crap.
We being the developed world are dying from laziness, meanwhile those who are called uncivilised and savage have to walk far for their food and put their heart and soul into the preparation of their food; thus they live a healthier lifestyle. It's just ignorant thinking in our continent that allows the corruption to continue...

Underdeveloped :smh: More under maintained...

Malaria is the biggest killer in Africa.....
But despite the low life expectancy populations are the fastest growing in the world.
