Why are bi-racial people(Black/____) always consider Black?

laws of genetics state (in summary): black genes are dominant, white genes are recessive

Wrong Answer.
The Right Answer Lies in RACIST LAWS that were created in the United States. Go to some other country like in South America or North Africa and watch the Bi-Racial classification switch from "Always Considered Black" in the USA to "Always considered White" in BRazil.

Check out this LINK. This Documentay explains it all

One drop. Let them who think they are white step to the KKK. They will help ya decide quickly what side of the room you want to hang with faster than you can get the color back in your face. :D REALITY BITES.
Because the KKK knows what's up??? These aren't the values that we should be basing our opinions on. :smh:

People need to stop being offended by those that are proud of their family background. We can't continue to ask people to ignore the fact that they are of more than one ethnicity. We should not be ashamed of our diversity nor our uniqueness.

Actually he's just as right as you.
The ''always considered black'' classification might have been started by white racism but the reason they are clearly distinguisable as being non-white is because the Black gene dominates the white gene.

Both of these together make up the reason bi-racial people are considered Black.

your documentary is fine and dandy, but the fact remians, black genes are dominant. borwn eyes are a dominant trait over light eyes (green, blue, hazel etc.) dark skin is dominant over all the other lighter shades. black hair is dominant over all the other colors, including brown. its just a scientific fact son.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Look at a bunch of pictures of the darkest African Americans you can find. Then go look at a bunch of pictures of dark Africans and West Indians.

What do you mean?

I'm glad I'm in the middle and just plain boring medium brown, you light skin and dark skin black people have too many issues

What I mean is you well barely ever see a dark skin African American even close to as dark as those from Africa or the Caribbean. The mix from however far back it may be becomes completely apparant if you check it.

It was to expose her racist ass for what she is. Although I think she is probably more jealous than racist.

You're going a little overboard, I don't think she's either jealous or racist. She's just ignorant and the way she defended her comments about the American Idol chick just showed more ignorance.

Ignorance, racism...it's all the same. Either way it was BS. Maybe I did attack this topic with a little "enthusiasm", My finance happens to be Bi-racial. So in some twisted way, I was defending her.

Not really.
The shades of Black people in the caribbean vary just as much as the Black people in the u.s. The same can also be said for those on the continent of Afrika.

I felt the need to mention how funny it is that the government created the "one drop" rule, but Black people have embraced it more than anyone over the years. For instance, most of us Black people here would agree that Barack Obama is Black (as he does himself), but I remember reading a survey how most white people and other races perceived him as bi-racial.

I think that comes from wanting to claim association with anybody we admire.

But yeah, most Black people in America have white in them. Even some of the most darkest Black people. The further it goes back the less it can show up. However, there are a lot of Black people I've met and never would have even guessed they were bi-racial (having parents of two different races that is) until they told me or seen their parents for myself.

i got pulled over in Denton, Tx about 2 years ago and the offiver asked me if i was Black or white. i am Black/Mexican. when i said that he just looked confused and asked me if i wanted Black or white marked on the ticket and asked me where i was from.

to Blacks many times i'm not really Black because i'm a little light and have "good hair" so i look different.

to Mexicans i'm not really Mexican though i know several folks that are darker than me and are 100% Mexican. enslaved Africans were dropped off everywhere along the Atlantic.

i choose to use the term Black because no matter where we are on the planet and no matter what we choose to term ourselves... we all understand that we are a more melanated people regardless of nationality.

the social constructions of North Americans are not universal. we have to remember that though the darker you are the worse you are treated is almost universal it is for different reasons depending on the history of the culture.

all mixed folks are not considered Black. in South America it is a mixture of your heritage, your economic situation and your social standing that determine your "race"
