Thank you for posting and I agree.
Michael Jackson songs for everything. And this thread is an insult to MJ. Prince was nowhere close to the level of musical talent that MJ had. You can't compare them. MF's like to rewrite history. You may like Prince's style and music better. But talent, no.
Let's not get too carried away.
They were both insanely talented in some similar ways but also in vastly different ways.
Primce could play most popular instruments. Was great at basketball and could even arrange music.
Mike couldn't arrange music or play basketball
But he could sing and dance and put on a mfkn show!
Mike was an entertainer, Prince was an artist.....

I actually own more of Prince's albums and Cds than any other recording artist. And, it's difficult to compare them because their music is different.
But consider this, Prince is about 2 months older than Michael Jackson, but has probably been listening to Michael since he was 11 years old.

Not only did Prince write his own hits, but he wrote hits for The Time, The Bangles, Sheena Easton, Shiela E and others. Michael only write 4 songs on Thriller lol.
As far as musical talent, Prince wins and it isn't even close.
More talented prince.. mj was more iconic.. and it ain't even close... the iPhone ain't the best phone and mc Donald's don't have the best burgers but they both are the biggest brands. 5 guys burgers are better but if you could choose to own one of those franchises. In the end Mike always looked up to Prince also named his son after him. When Mike was having financial problems before he passed, he called Prince to for advice. Prince actually suggested MJ do a residency in Vegas like Usher is doing now. As a business man Prince was way ahead of MJ. Mike was a great entertainer person, Prince was a great Musician/business man.
The thread was about which entertainer gets more play and you here more. This huge spectacle was in one of the most biggest cities in the world on 1 of the most celebrated holidays and it was mj being played. Which proves as we said mj gets more burn. 40 yr song and routine being performed by majority of individuals that weren't even alive yet when it originally came out. This song and routine will continue to be used for yrs, decades in the future. Iconic and its not even close

The party, club, get together vibe is Jackos greatest hits. Cause Jacko got more of them. But to me... Prince has better music. It had more depth, but not the easiest to listen to. He got allot of misses in his shit. But Prince, despite his popularity. Didn't really make popular music. More pop icon, than star. If that makes sense. Not dising him at all because he's favorite artist.

Michael made himself more marketable than Prince did. And with thriller, as you said he has Halloween on lock. You got whole classrooms and whole schools doing thriller remake videos. That's going to be happening in perpetuity. These kids weren't even alive when Michael Jackson was performing and their making Michael Jackson videos
By Prince making a lot of his music "nasty" or kinky He left himself out of a whole market, like someone who markets drugs before drugs are legal.
Michael wins this debate hands down, but Prince is the better performer and the better musician. That cannot be debated
