The women of "The View" weighed in on a now-viral video of a New York City subway brawl on Wednesday, arguing that the woman who was slapped by the man in the footage might have gotten what she deserved.

The video, posted to YouTube on Saturday under the title "Man smacks the soul out of girl on the NY Subway," shows a woman taunting a man on the train, making fun of his style and calling him "stupid."

When the woman smacks the man on the head, he turns around and ferociously slaps her in the face, spawning a messy, sprawling brawl in the subway car.

Whoopi Goldberg began the discussion, warning her audience: "I'm about to piss you off."

“If you slap anybody -- but particularly women -- if you slap, put your hands on somebody, you cannot be guaranteed that he’s not going to slap the [blank] out of you," she said.

Goldberg has a history of making similar claims, arguing earlier this year that Jay Z had "the right" to hit Solange Knowles back during their now-infamous elevator fight.

“If I slap a man, he has every right to slap me back," Goldberg said back in May after former co-host Barbara Walters questioned her comments.

But this time, both Goldberg's co-host Rosie Perez and guest-host Ashanti ultimately agreed.

"I felt a little hypocritical when I saw this," Perez said. "I was like, 'Okay, she needed to get slapped back.'"

Ashanti concurred, saying, "She definitely needed to get slapped."

Whoopi is the kind of Woman, you need to have by your side.

She doesn't have the "Fine" looks that is suppose to be so important.

She doesn't have the "Bangin Body" that is suppose to be so important.

She doesn't have the "FAKE ASS NAILS" that is suppose to be so important.

Now for what she does have:
1- A GOOD PAYING JOB
2- HER OWN DAMN MONEY FROM HER GOOD PAYING JOB
3- PROBABLY SOME SKILLZ IN THE BEDROOM TO MAKE UP FOR WHAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE AS STATED BEFORE

4- THIS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND THE MOST OVERLOOKED THESE DAYS....SHE HAS GOT THE GUTS TO CALL IT LIKE IS AND TELL THESE WOMEN OF TODAY.....

KEEP YOU GOD-DAMN HANDS TO YOURSELF, AND IF YOU DON'T SHE SHOULD EXPECT THE HAMMER OF THOR TO COME DOWN ON YOUR ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, why did the victim get charged. He defended himself from the initial attack.

Sounds like self-defence to me, doesn't that count?

Everyone talking about what she/they said. What I didn't hear from any of the ladies is that you should never hit anyone and not just a man should never hit a women. I also think it's ridiculous how she said you don't know how he was raised. I don't know anyone that likes to be or will accept being slapped(regardless of how they were raised)

8 Ball might fuck around and get a hood holiday out of this and added to the lexicon! Muhfuckas gon' be threatening people with, "Keep talkin' shit, ho'! Yo' mouf gon' caused you to get this 8 Ball, bitch!"

Your homies are gonna be like, "She said what?! And you didn't 8 Ball that yo'?! Man, you done got soft!"

Rappers:
"Let's get one thing straight, y'all,
If a bitch gets outta pocket, that bitch'll get the 8 Ball!"

I don't think it's about accepting. There are some men who wouldn't have hit her. There are some men who wouldn't have engaged with her at all from the start. There are some men who would remove themselves from the rowdy female altogether.

When hit there are some men who know their own strength and ability is enough to restrain.

No 1 is saying you should ACCEPT getting hit.

The video, which has been viewed more than 3.8 million times since it was posted Nov. 8, showed authorities that the apparently drunk straphanger, Shanique Campbell, poked fun at Pena’s jacket and his slight speech impediment before using her 6-inch stiletto as a weapon — hitting Pena behind the left ear and on his face.

“He’s not an aggressive guy. He’s like Andre the Giant,” London said of his 6-foot-6 client, who had just finished a 12-hour shift as a bouncer at a Lower East Side bar.

London plans to press charges against Campbell on Pena’s behalf sometime this week.
damn right press charges against her.

Again she made a reference to not knowing how someone is raise. Which implies that someone not raised too well will be the only men who will slapped a woman right back. It's the same with a woman spitting on a man. Certain things bring a quick reaction.

Also there is always extra importance pbut on men not hitting women. When it should just be you should never hit anyone. Otherwise you are telling women it is okay to hit a man but abnormal for a man to hit a woman.

Young woman learned a very valuable lesson that day: "Keep your motherfuckin' hands to yourself".

the charges were dropped against him after spending four days in jail, but he never should have been charged in the first place.

http://nypost.com/2014/11/12/man-whose-epic-slap-went-viral-has-charges-dropped/

The girl might be charged with felony assault...I don't want to have sympathy for the devil, but if the charges stick, she potentially fucked up her life trying to put on a show for her friends. Does anyone think past the moment? Does anyone think about consequences?

Whoopi makes a good point, be careful who you fuck with because you never know what they might do. It's like what Kane said in Menace II Society....Its funny like that in the hood you never know what can happen, meaning when he stomp dude out he never thought he would come back blasting. Be careful who you fuck with man or women because muthafuckas might come back blasting.

They're already out here everyday all day. Twice as hard on Saturdays.

I disagree. The type of woman who's going to do it... isn't going to be told NOT to do it. My sons don't hit women because they were taught by their father not to hit girls and not to be involved with rowdy women. My daughters are taught to conduct themselves as proper ladies.

Not everyone is taught to do either. And saying it randomly isn't going to make those who weren't taught it... not to do it as adults.

Anyway. I know bgol loves hitting women. And i know nothing i say will effectively be understood.
