Who made The Film & Why ???

The Film is the focal point:

  • Of protest at U.S. embassies in several Muslim countries that has resulted in the deaths of at least 4 Americans, including the Ambassador to Libya;

  • Of Presidential statements; and

  • Of counter-statements by a presidential candidate.

Who made The Film? It is said to have been made by one Sam Bacile; but who is Sam Bacile?

  • Skepticism about the actual identity of "Sam Bacile," [is abound]. The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg contacted a consultant of the film, Steve Klein, who said that Bacile, contrary to previous claims in The Wall Street Journal and Associated Press, is not Israeli nor actually named Sam Bacile. (It's a pseudonym.) Klein tells Goldberg:
"I don't know that much about him. I met him, I spoke to him for an hour. He's not Israeli, no. I can tell you this for sure, the State of Israel is not involved, Terry Jones (the radical Christian Quran-burning pastor) is not involved. His name is a pseudonym. All these Middle Eastern folks I work with have pseudonyms. I doubt he's Jewish. I would suspect this is a disinformation campaign."

  • Who is this Steve Klein ?

Klein is known in Southern California <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">for his vocal opposition to the construction of a mosque</span> in Temecula, southeast of Los Angeles, in 2010. <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">He heads up Concerned Citizens for the First Amendment, a group that contends Islam is a threat to American freedom.</span>

  • What is Steve Klein's political affiliation ?

  • What is the film makers nationality ?

  • Who financed the production of The Film ?

  • Were the Actors in The Film 'Duped' into making The Film ?
"A casting call published in July 2011 in Backstage magazine and in other publications for actors identifies the working title of the movie as "Desert Warrior" and describes it as a "historical Arabian Desert adventure film."

But the 80 cast and crew members involved in the making of the movie said they were "grossly misled" about its intent.

"The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer," they said in a statement to CNN.

They said they were "shocked by the drastic rewrites of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred."

An actress in the film, who asked not to be identified, said the original script did not include a Prophet Mohammed character. She said she and other actors complained that their lines had been changed.

The woman said she spoke Wednesday with the producer, who is identified in the advertisement as Sam Bassiel.

"He said he wrote the script because he wants the Muslims to quit killing," she said. "I had no idea he was doing all this."

Why was The Film Made? - Surely, anyone in his/her right mind knows that a film about the Islamic Prophet Muhammad (based on recent history alone) would be CERTAIN to stir violence.

  • Was it made to stir up anti-American feelings among Muslims ???

  • Is it part of a ploy to affect the 2012 Presidential Election in the U.S., if so:

    • Which candidate was supposed to benefit ???

  • Was this part of a plan to commemorate Al Qaeda and its fallen leader, Osama bin laden, commencing on the same date that the U.S. was remembering 911 ???

Finally, The Movie the Muslim World Is Furious About Might Not Even Be a Movie:

The biggest international news story of the month may be based on a total fraudhttp://www.theatlanticwire.com/glob...-furious-about-might-not-even-be-movie/56804/. That's the sinking feeling reporters are getting about Muslim Innocence, the so-called "film" that ignited a flurry of riots from Algeria to Gaza to Egypt to Afghanistan.

Inflammatory Anti-Muslim “Movie” May Not Be A Real Movie
The clumsy dubbing suggests that the footage comes from different films entirely. And there's no way that it cost $5 million to make.

The anti-Muslim "movie" that served as the spark or pretext for a wave of violent unrest in Egypt and Libya may not be a movie at all.

As the video above — cut from the YouTube video tied to a global controversy — shows, nearly all of the names in the movie's "trailer" are overdubbed. The video is a compilation of the most clumsily overdubbed moments from what is in reality an incoherent, haphazardly-edited set of scenes. Among the overdubbed words is "Mohammed," suggesting that the footage was taken from a film about something else entirely. The footage also suggests multiple video sources — there are obvious and jarring discrepancies among actors and locations.

However, CNN has reported that the cast and crew disavowed the movie, and the overdubbing could also have been to conceal the content from the cast itself. Gawker interviewed a woman who played a part in the movie, who said that she had had no idea what it was about when she was hired.

As The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg reported today, the supposed filmmaker, "Sam Bacile," appears not to be a real person — or at least not the director of the movie. A consultant to the movie, Steve Klein, told Goldberg that he didn't know Bacile's real name and that he wasn't Israeli as reported.

The person using Bacile's name told the Associated Press and the Wall Street Journal that the film had been made using $5 million from those donors, as well as a sizable crew of 45 people behind the camera and nearly 60 actors. The film's low production values make those numbers risible. Five million dollars is more than the budget of some reputable independent films, and could certainly buy a better production than what went into the Mohammad film.

"We continue to report this story and gather new information to explain the origins of the movie and the individuals behind it," said AP spokesman Paul Colford. "More coverage to follow..."

The film's author is still still unknown, though Florida pastor Terry Jones and Egyptian-American Coptic activist Morris Sadek have been involved in promoting it. Four Americans were killed in Libya in riots tied to the film.

But whoever made may well have made use of little more than the standard editing software Final Cut Pro — far from a cast and crew of over 100 and millions of dollars.

Who made The Film? It is said to have been made by one Sam Bacile; but who is Sam Bacile?

According to the Washington Post:

THE FILMMAKER: Federal authorities say the shadowy figure behind the film is Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, a California man once convicted of financial crimes and prohibited from using computers or the Internet as part of his sentence.

Authorities have connected Nakoula to the persona of Sam Bacile, someone who initially claimed to The Associated Press to be the writer and director of the film. The YouTube clips were posted under the username “sam bacile.” Nakoula told the AP in an interview Wednesday that he managed logistics for the company that made the film. He denied he was Bacile and said he didn’t direct the film, though he said he knew Bacile. Bacile turned out to be a false identity, and the AP traced a cellphone number used by Bacile to a home where a reporter located Nakoula.

Court papers in 2010 said Nakoula had many aliases, including Nicola Bacily, Robert Bacily and Erwin Salameh. The man identifying himself as Bacile claimed to be an Israeli Jew, but evidence shows he is a Coptic Christian. He told the AP he is a real estate developer, but his name does not appear in searches of California real estate licenses.

According to NBC:

The crude and provocative [version of the] anti-Islam video blamed in part for sparking protests against U.S. diplomatic missions — <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">was promoted by another Egyptian-born Coptic Christian named Morris Sadek on his website</span>.

Suspected anti-Islam filmmaker
questioned by federal probation officers

A man purported to be a filmmaker involved with the anti-Islam video sparking violent unrest in the Middle East and North Africa was escorted by deputies from his Cerritos, Calif., home shortly after midnight Saturday morning, NBCLosAngeles.com reported.

Media and law enforcement had been staking out the home at the end of a cul de sac in the Southern California city for about 48 hours when Nakoula Besseley Nakoula emerged wearing a coat, hat, scarf and glasses.

What up Que? I'm back.

LOL. Yes you are! Welcome back GF, I often wondered what happened to you -- and hoped you hadn't been injured, or worse, on the battlefield in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan or somewhere.

Welcome back! Glad to read you made it.

Filmmaker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula (a.k.a. Sam Bacile) on the set of ‘Innocence of Muslims’ with actress Anna Gurji.

Federal investigators questioned — but later released — one of the filmmakers behind the incendiary anti-Islam video that sparked violent clashes across the Middle East.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was taken in for questioning near his Southern California home early Saturday, officials said.

But Nakoula, who is on probation, was not arrested and investigators said his appearance at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office was voluntary.

The Egyptian-born filmmaker has since gone into hiding, according to The Associated Press.

“He is gone,” Steven Whitmore, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, told the news wire services. “We don’t know where he went. He said he is not going back to his home.”

Nakoula, 55, is at the center of the probe into the amateurish movie “Innocence of Muslims,” which slanders the prophet Muhammed and triggered protests at several U.S. government buildings in the Middle East. During a demonstration in Libya, which may have been used as cover by terrorists, an American ambassador and three of his colleagues were killed.

Nakoula — who wore a coat, scarf and hat pulled down to hide his face when taken from his Los Angeles-area home just after midnight — was convicted of a check-kiting scheme in June 2010.

He was sentenced to 21 months in prison but only served one year. He’s on probation but could return to prison if he is found to have violated the conditions of his release. A judge barred Nakoula from using the Internet for five years.

Meanwhile, the director of the film was unmasked as Alan Roberts, a 65-year-old porn director. Roberts directed “The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood,” according to Gawker.

“I am sure it was the same Alan Roberts, as I remember him speaking about this project,” filmmaker David Prior told the website in an email.

Roberts also directed “Young Lady Chatterly” and “The Sexpert.”
