Randy Moss “I do believe I am the greatest receiver, no disrespect to Jerry Rice.”

do y`all agree with Randy.......

Before Randy, we should still consider

Chris Carter
Tim Brown
Terrell Owens
Marvin Harrison

Talent wise, Randy Moss is the greatest receiver ever. The catches he made since coming into the league are second to none. However, the hardest worker and therefore, best receiver stats-wise is Jerry Rice.

Terrell Owens, Chris Carter, Marvin Harrison, and Tim Brown can fight for 3rd

Can't argue with that

Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver of all-time and everyone else is fighting for second place. Moss is not even close to fucking with Jerry Rice. Rice not only caught the long ball, he caught short ones and broke them, through the middle, used to run the reverse, and was a GREAT blocker and the best route-runner of all time.

Moss was one of the greatest one-dimensional offensive forces in NFL history but he was still one dimensional.

It was breaking a few of THIS man's records that put Jerry Rice @ #1, he was the first WR to hit 100 TDs, the first to record 819 receptions, and the first to retire with over 13,000 yards receiving, in an era where DBs could actually beat on a receiver with no flags, playing for mostly woeful Seattle Seahawk teams.

To date he is STILL the only Seattle Seahawk in the HOF!

I've done a lot of research into this topic.

Rice worked hard, yes. Extremely. However, it's only talked about so much because of how much he produced.

In this PC age, we want people to believe that their success is limited only by the effort they're willing to put into it. That's a nice notion, but it is just not the case. Jerry Rice may not have had freakish combine numbers...

...but dude was born to play that position. He honed it to perfection...

...but my research has suggested that there are A LOT of pro athletes who go H.A.M.-SQUARED, but you don't hear much about their work ethics because they don't produce legendary performances, and all-time numbers.

Rice
Moss
Carter
T.O.
Harrison
Brown
Largent

Honorable mention:

Michael Irvin
Andre Reed
Sterling Sharpe if it weren't for injuries, would have been up there.

Rice is clearly #1...

The fight for #2 is amongst a lot of players. I'd have to include Steve Largent and Marvin Harrison on the list.

Lofton wouldnt even make honorable mention (Reed made me think of him)?

I thought about Lofton, but didn't want to look like I was being too BILLS biased, but yeah, I should have at least given him a mention.

No Lynn Swann Paul Warfield Otis Taylor Drew Pearson Harold Carmichael

Is this another case of history not starting until after 1990 ?

Impact and Greatness are more than stats.

But in that head up comparison Moss was a long ball receiver while Rice did more after the catch..

None of the names mentioned are better than JJ! Stop believing the ESPN era hype and do some research.

Rec: 1078

Yards: 15934

TD: 153

TO put up some monster numbers man

He cheated himself out of adding to those stats by running his mouth too much and being on the streets when he can still play these last few years

He still not better than Randy Moss, who is the best of the rest
