I know this is old, but read the comments.

Whites are basically up in arms over Jamie Dukes (NFL Network "Analyst") referring to QB Ryan Mallett as Eminem/Vanilla Ice.

Here's the article:

Jamie Dukes calls Ryan Mallett “a Caucasian street guy”

Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett has been criticized from many angles. There are rumors, via Tony Softli 101espn.com, that Mallett did drugs in college, and that he may even have been addicted. Others scrutinize Mallett’s leadership skills.

We know he can’t run.

But NFL Network’s Jamie Dukes has struck a new blow to the Mallett pinata, and it has nothing to do with athletic ability, on-field performance, or off-field habits that could ultimately affect Mallett’s play.

“For the lack of a better phrase, he’s kind of the first — and forgive this phrase — kind of the Caucasian street guy,” Dukes said on Wednesday’s edition of Total Access. “And what I mean by that, he’s got that Eminem, slash, ya know, Vanilla Ice thing that goes on.

“I just don’t think, truthfully, people are accustomed to seeing a quarterback . . . having a little street in him. And I think that’s kind of unsettling.”

Now look at the comments from "guess who"?

brownsfn says: Apr 14, 2011 7:58 PM
so its OK for a african american to say racist remarks towards a white fellow??? Weird…*eyes roll*…

hammer7329 says: Apr 14, 2011 8:00 PM
Of course it’s not racism. A black man can say anything he wants about a white man and it’s ok. Jamie Dukes…meet David Duke.

Cam newton has some street in him…oh now that it’s shouts black person I’m a racist. Oops

Warren Moon sees nothing wrong with this.
And for the record, neither does Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.

therolandobottom says: Apr 14, 2011 8:21 PM
If a white guy said this about a black qb he would be fired right after the show.

The Ryan Mallett Pinata… well at least its a bit more politically correct than the Rodney King Pinata

toes110 says: Apr 14, 2011 9:03 PM
where is al sharpton and jesse jackson?? its pretty much the same thing as if there was a white history month, or a white entertainment television station, or a WAACP. or a united white folk college fund,.. all that would be considered racist….

murraysons says: Apr 14, 2011 9:28 PM
And isn’t “trailer park trash” the white version of the N word? They are both stupid and over-used….

They truly have no idea what racism is. Fucking cowards

And here comes someone with a brain and guess how many thumbs up/thumbs down he got:

First of all, the guys claiming reverse racism here while continuing to bring Newton up in this same conversation are completely missing the point. What Dukes brings up is the same strange scrutiny that the black QBs constantly face because they are black, except he’s a white man.

Therefore, he’s facing the same strange questions of his character rooted simply in how he talkks and “carries himself as opposed to his game tape because I’ve scrolled more than a few comments on his past stories where he’s slammed as dumb, stupid, unsophisticated, and a whole lot of other things under the sun simply based on how he talks, which is unfair whether you’re talking about a black or white man.

However, reverse racism guys, trying to use this as your crutch, give me a break and get a clue sometime this century. You have no idea what racism means obviously if you’re drawing that parallel from this situation.

If anything, many of you have made Dukes point here in the past because you’re too eager to judge a book by it’s cover rather than what any of these guys can do on the field.

I work with some white dudes like this.... just constantly feel aggrieved and victimized by "reverse-racism".

I do too. I posted a while ago that I had an associate that would tell me that minorities have all the power. It just baffled me that someone could think like this. He got cut off real quick.

Why are they so dumb? It infuriates me.

wtf? "Caucasian street guy"...? That's a weird phrase. I thought he was just a cokehead, like Matt Jones.

 @cacausion street guy

i know eminem somewhere mad as fuk that the dude linked his name to vanilla ice.

and since when was either of um 'street'?

em gets played in some hoods but i ain't ever heard vanilla ice comin out nobody's whip on crenshaw and slauson. or anywhere on central!

who gives a fuck its about some meaningless shit that wont make either of you any money, or worth

oh, and someone mentioned a white guy said minorities have more power than whites...he's probably bitter he has all of the benefits of being white, yet he still remains to be a failure in a society run by his people; and is mad b/c he sees blacks and other races doing better than him. What he doesn't know is affirmative action benefited whites more than any race because their women could now get very good jobs, and as a household two people with good income means more power. no excuses for being a broke, bitter white dude and no way should any of you spend time arguing about racism in sports when we all know Mike Vick is now the standard for future quarterbacks to come because defenses are just too fast these days. Therefore, while whites hate on Tim Tebow b/c they dont think he's a good passer...he's an incredible athlete and quarterbacks need that added dimension when they dont have O-Lines like the Colts and Pats

All fuel for the whites who want to complain about something and we all know there is no bigger complainers in America than white people who can find a fault & a reason to complain about just about anything.

I hate that reverse racism bullshit, but this comment is  "Caucasian street guy" ?

But this is something I just was talking about on here last week. We are allowed to go at white folks now and they can't really do shit about it. Is it reverse-racism? No. But to say that we don't have more freedom to bring up race when talking about shit isn't being honest.

But I hate when white people use this shit like it is why they can't advance their careers or some shit.

Imagine if some NFL player was riding around on a Harley blasting heavy metal and got knocked for meth and some CAC said wtf is he trying to be, a Black Hell's Angel or something? Thread would be 10 pages on BGOL calling for that CACs head.

Yup. If you're white and able bodied, you really have no excuse to be a fuck up.
