Obviously, the news on Friday was tremendous and something none of us will ever forget.

We've recounted emotions with friends and the time, place, and way in which we learned the news will stick with each of us for a very long time, if not forever.

So this thread is focused on the following question...



Where were you when you learned that Jeff Goldblum was still alive???


 
i was driving listening to the radio...

they stopped whatever song they were playing and said tehy had an important announcement...

i thought somebody dropped a bomb on our asses somewhere

then they announced micheal passed and started playing billie jean :(

then my phone blew up with texts
 
I turned on MSNBC to catch "Hardball" and Chris said something about keeping us posted on what happened to Michael Jackson...he went to commercial and I turned it to CNN and they said he had a probable cardiac arrest and wasn't breathing when they got to his house.

Then...I turn it on 106thnPark...wondering if they'd say anything b/c I thought they taped the shows but this episode was live and Terrence said something like "OK...we know it looks bad but we all need to be positive...I say he's gonna make it out OK...I'm gonna go on twitter and see the comments" As soon as he said that...I got an eery feeling like he shouldn't have said that. They flipped it to the next video...

Then as soon as they came back, Roxy was crying and I knew.:smh:. She made the official announcement...Terrence was like "It hasn't been confirmed, I don't think." like he wouldn't accept the news...Then Roxy said it's been confirmed.

Just awful, man...I can't even wrap my head around it.
 
I was in the barber shop...... I just so happened to turn on cnn............ the whole time .............. I was thinking how bad it was and how strange it seemed...... NEVER EVER THOUGHT THAT HE WOULD ACTUALLY DIE,................ EVER IN LIF! just never associated death with MJ........... all his music sounds different now....... you can definitely hear the messages in his music a lot clearer now... at least I can. Prince could never be compared to MJ........ there is no comparison between a KING and A Prince!

I keep wondering who's gonna die next!:smh:

but, i was @ work when my girl texted me that he had a heart attack. not 2 long after that she told me he had passed. :(

 
I was just getting in the car. I didn't hear who it was. It sounded serious. I raced home and turned on CNN and could not believe he died. My phone was ringing off the hook with did You hear news.

:lol::smh: People scrolled past those three or four one-line sentences like "Fuck how you're setting this up, I got a story to share!!!"

And the video still with the picture of the comedian apparently didn't tip them off... :dunno:
 
At work talking on the phone with a screenprinter, when one of my fellow co-workers found my azz and told me.
