I'm sitting here listening to my iTunes.. and some Vivian Green came on... where the hell is she?? I need her to drop a new CD darn it! it's been almost 4 years!!! :angry::angry::angry: Her first two were my shizit!!!

anyone else have an artist who they feel needs to release something soon??
 
The music industry takes no prisoners. If you can't write your own material you may get left behind. Being dependent on your labels writers is bad news for many artist. For now put her into that infamous, "One Hit Wonder" category.

Why do you consider her a one hit wonder? She's had two successful R&B albums...
 
Wow. Vivian Green! Her first album was in constant rotation when it dropped. She was also a very beautiful sista, if I remember correctly. The sad thing is, had you not mentioned her - I wouldn't have even thought about it. That's deep.

BTW, thanks for the album. I destroyed that CD long ago. Back in rotation, now on the Ipod!!!

Because Vivian Green's music gets so little airplay that's why. She's simply not commercial enough. That's not her fault blame it on the industry or her manager, proper promotion means an awful lot in today's industry. Also blame a public which really doesn't seem to care about music content just as long as there's a good beat and a lot of bass they're happy. People really care about song lyrics today except fans of rap.

I hear Rihanna's music everyday, is she a better artist than Vivian? IMO no but she gets the airtime. Same thing with Janet Jackson (who I think stinks good performer but can't sing) gets too much airtime. Typical R&B stations just don't get it anymore. In the major markets stations continue to recycle the same top 40 hits.

There's hundreds of outstanding R&B artist and groups that are performing and producing good quality R&B. Without airtime to promote the release of a new single or album good music sits and dies on the shelves. People won't blindly purchase a CD without hearing some of the tracks. CDs cost too much money.

Don't get me wrong I've liked Vivian since her breakout hit several years ago but she needs another smash hit. Your right when you asked, "Where the hell is." So when I said one hit wonder its not her fault.
