When Eddie Murphy’s Boomerang came out. White critics said it was unrealistic and faced backlash for having an all Black cast who weren’t poor.

Still the only movie Eddie Murphy ever directed. I don't know too many people who legitimately don't like that movie
Yeah, Eddie said the better movie would been filming the behind the scenes; he said just being on-set was comedy gold: Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Robin Harris, Della Reese, Reynaldo Rey, Charlie Murphy, and of course Eddie himself. Eddie said that they were laughing all day.

Eddie Murphy has lived the life, hasn't he? I mean he has performed with all of his idols from Richard Pryor to Redd Foxx to James Brown and then some, and has still remained humble. I heard he does so much behind the scenes that no one knows about

His life was one of those lives where if you didn't know who Eddie Murphy was and he was a fictional character, you wouldn't believe the movie about his life: you'd be like, this movie is fake as hell.
