What the fuck?!? Are you at work? Or, do you have some kind of asynchronous optical fiber internet connection?

i do have a BIG advantage:

1. i live right on top of the node
2. i'm in the counry and only a few people have cable modem service out here.

Ahhhhh... Cable Internet is fast as hell (when it's working) and no one else has it. I had Comcast for a while. But, I live in a high density population area where everyone and their au pair has three or four computers in their house. For that last three weeks that I had it, every Friday evening it would drop the connection entirely and be intermittent throughout the weekend.

I love me some FIOS

Verizon Fios Availability - Michigan

FiOS Internet Service

Fios is currently not available for the state of Michigan. However, this state is within Verizon's territory which means Verizon has plans on making FIOS available at a later date. Please check back frequently for updates. The current states where FiOS is available are - California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and Washington. In the meantime, there are many other internet service providers to choose from. DSL and Cable internet are the next down the line from a fiber optic internet connectivity. Choosing those internet services may be the best option while you wait for FiOS Internet to arrive. You may wish to choose to order Verizon's DSL service, it's affordable and reliable. There are currently 16 states that have FiOS activity, the next state could very well be Michigan.
