Cablevision has the fastest online service of the 3 area companies. I've worked for all three and without a doubt COMCAST has/had the worst infrastructrue I've ever worked on (Northern Jersey). Roadrunner (Time/Warner) on its best day might get half the speed of Optimum but all 3 video pkgs suck BOLOS.
Verizon is still running their cables and shit thru my nabe. Soon as the fix is in bye bye Cablevision
Well I always had cabelvision tv service, but just recently had verizon fios. I switched back to cable because of the optimum. NO QUESTION, their internet is the best available service. I can go either way with the television, but the phone service verizon has hands down. With cable, they give you and a cool feature where you can control all of your features by logging online and turn stuff on at your discretion but their caller id sucks balls. Cablevision does not display peoples names if their calling from their cell phone. It only displays their carrier. My brother who is in Iraq called me this morning while I was sleeping and I did not recognize the name so I ignored it and missed his call.

Yeah the Optimum Online is really what had me hooked with Cablevision, but recently I've been getting disconnects… FIOS is supposedly 5x faster upload even with Optimum Boost… we'll see, I get installed on Sept. 4th and have three months to test drive that shyt before it goes to contract. But their the cable side is what has me excited, FIOS has so many HD channels and all are supposedly 1080i or better [again supposedly].

FIOS is the shit..and not only that...its the future..COAX will eventually reach its capacity because its fiber to the hub and not dedicated. FIOS is is fiber to the home and essentially a dedicated pipe. Soon they will offer 100mB (which is possible now). Now if they could just get their customer service better they would have the complete package.
Fios is not that great. A couple of friends i know have it and they said don't believe the hype. They say it not worth the money you spend.
I can't believe that. Are you sure they have FIOS and not DSL because they are two different things. DSL uses your phone line. FIOS uses their fiber network. You speeds of 20 Mb/s. And over 100 HD channels. My friend who has Cablevision just told me that even though they added more HD channels, his d/l speed has gone down.
Cablevision. I love optimum. I've been to folks places who have FIOS
and it didn't impress me. I'm not up on their tv offerings as i don't
really watch live tv. I don't have a dvr or premium. i get my shows
off torrents. Their phone service is great in that i can call the the
US/Canada free and they have nice caribbean calling packages.
