God damn chester got soft. Damn this was the best band of my gen. Its like they are another emo band now.

They fell off the map and Cold Play, The Fray and other bands came in. LP doesn't get the props they deserve.

I don't know what this thread is turning into, but to answer the original question, Linkin' Park didn't go anywhere but up.

I know people might not have liked their latest album the first couple of times they listened to it, but trust me .... Keep listen!
That real type of listening, when it's more then you just bumping it while you're doing some other shit. Clear an hour out of your schedule, sit down, and give the album a proper chance.

Mike goes hard on every track he raps on.

They are evolving. I LOVED Meteora but when I heard Minutes to Midnight I didn't like it at first. But then I gave it another go around and I grew to really like it (btw really good album to work out to). Gotta admit A Thousand Suns wasn't to my liking either. But they keep progressing. That's what great bands do. But now I'm on the Kings of Leon kinda hard now. Been going back listening to their old stuff and it's pretty fucking good!

Exactly how I felt about it!!
:cool::cool:

And I'm sitting here thinking A Thousand Suns is some of their best work. They've matured nicely IMO. I haven't heard Minutes to Midnight though.

mike only raps on one song i think, dont have the album on my hdd anymore. they did have more of a hip hop influence in their shit in the early 2000's, but that became unpopular for whatever reason, look at poppa roach n all a them. They've all greendayed themselves or somethin.

Linkin Park is still evolving with good music, its just the music they do isnt "Popular" any more. With music its all about timing, their first 2 albums hit the mainstream at a time when their style was the trend, hence they were able to capitalize off of them greatly. Their newer material is hot too, but thats not "Popular" in the eyes of mainstream anymore, so to check for them, you gotta dig deeper...

They ran off with Sugar Ray and the Goo Goo Dolls and joined the circus.

I always found that name funny...Who names their group GOO GOO DOLLS:lol:

People need to evolve. Trying to keep the same sound you had in your 20s when you are in your mid 30s to early 40s just sounds sad after a while. Look at the Offspring for a good example of that. I admit you can't just completely ignore your past like some Artists do, but you can't expect them to make the same style of music forever.

They've always been an emo type band, their music just made it more palatable. Them and bands like Billy Talent just made better music and records. Now that their songs are not as hard, you're noticing that aspect of them. To be honest, I've had my fill of "vagina rock". I was really never into them. I was more of a Strokes guy.

krazie have you listened to black out a track on minutes to mind night..on their new Cd...i know they don't have the underground sound they had....but they are still dope....

i read somewhere they made a statement of wanting to have that longevity of U2........you can listen to minutes to midnight and hear a lot of U2 influence on it.

but like someone said earlier, they are evolving and the music is still good. you actually have to listen to it. a thousand suns at first was like :puke: to me, now it's

Mike raps on 3 or 4 tracks. He kills Empty Spaces and Wretches and Kings.
