I have been using computers for over two decades. I just started learning to code this year. I wish I started twenty years ago. It's starting to become fun.
I remember my mother putting me in coding classes as a child.
I remember taking this as a sophomore in h.s.
Looking back, shit didnt interest me @ those times, now it does!

I started coding when I was 17 which almost 30 years ago. Wish i would have started younger. If they taught coding at an early age you would free a lot of people mentally an early age. It would not be hard to do. Teach them there math subject afterwards teach them how to write code to solve it. I would start off with simple truth tables to start.

I've worked in a company mostly dealing with *nix solutions and I can think of a more interesting occupation!

We are an imperialistic nation who makes money by stealing the goods from other nations, as well as being the world bank, both require a big ass army, and we both know you cant have too many nerds in your arm trying to fight wars... Plus too many free thinkers may topple the powers that be on the top... It safer for them to hand pick brains from other nations, people who would be much more grateful and less likely to stir any trouble and risk going back home..
As for us,our job is to be laborers, keep the economy alive by spending on shit we don't need, and to police the world for the ultra rich...

Wow...I gotta pass this on to my grandchildren. I was taking computer aide accounting back in 92 and some of the tests were to create some simple programs and coding. I dropped out to work at the P.O. though.
My former Brother in Law and I used to beat feet to this little storefront computer shop in the early 80s. We had Texas Instruments computers and would get the books and work all of these programs that they published. That brings back some fond memories...wish I'd stuck with it now. Hindsight is a mother!

Don't think its too late to start. You be suprise how man older people are in my Web development classes. I have a classmate 52 years old.
The most important thing I learned about programming wasn't accomplishing my task. It was [trying to] figure out all the ways ppl are gonna misuse what you wrote, mostly accidentally, and coming up with ways to counter that. Now that shit really tests your mental faculties. Also, most of your preconceived notions are probably wrong. Get used to that. I really wish more STEM was taught in schools.

This is why I laugh a people when they say the United States is the best country when we have a large portion of the country who can't read,write and who is illiterate in math and science.....
I dont understand why programming and business management isnt taught in middle school or atleast in high schools....
We had to do coding in 7th & 8th grade...shit was cool, but kids from my side of the tracks had no idea the possibilities
