Might be a repost, might be a dead horse. I apologize in advance if it is.
I'm a little curious, I plan on having children some day (20 years from now,
). I was thinking about what values I wanted to teach my children, and which traits I wanted my children to develop. I have a list, but I'm curious as to what other people think. I'm looking for a baseline for lack of a better term, to help get my point across: imagine if you lived in a community of only black people. And, you have a child; which ideals do you feel that ALL of your child's peers/friends/schoolmates should possess in order for them to progress both individually and as a group.
(Also, I don't want to make it gender specific, because almost any positive value can be applied to both genders).
Mine are:
discipline
teamwork
independence
love
toughness (reslilience)
patience
importance of education
I can think of more, but I'd like to see what other people think.
