Wesley Snipes Discusses the Black Panther Live-Action Movie

Nothing I said is incorrect. It's just facts. Do the research and it's all there. Even Blunt could'nt refute it. Just offer "what if" pie in the sky scenarios about how it "could" happen. Go back and read the interviews from Todd McFarlane when SPAWN was released. Cracka broke it down plain as day.

It's 2010 and niggas STILL can't see that hollywood is all about image and perception? People talkin bout HANCOCK as an example but look at that shit. Nigga most powerful being on the planet and he a bum that can't do shit right until white boy talks him into GOIN TO JAIL WILLFULLY. This nigga just chillin up in jail puttin people heads up other people asses and shit. Then the white bitch just as powerful as he is and she his kryptonite.lol.

Really...a nigga wit superpowers can't do shit right until white man "set's him straight" and he stays away from white woman?

That shit can't compare to BLADE. First movie was all Wesley even tho you had the hollywood formula of white father figure, mentor for the black character. Blade 2 they introduced the blood pack and they found a white boy for whistler's replacement. Blade 3 this nigga damn near a extra in the franchise he built.

There's an interview on a dvd with Kevin Smith and Stan Lee where Kevin tries to say that Spiderman kicked off the whole superhero movie craze and Stan CORRECTS him and states that no it was Blade that showed Marvel what could be done and that superhero movies could be a success and that after Blade opened the way it did everything else was put on the fast track.

As to your question about hollywood holding back on any kind of movie...just look up Melvin Van Peebles. Yall probly think SHAFT was originally written as a black character huh?

Dawg i have no idea, I'm completely ignorant to this industry thats why i asked you the question originally. I remember Dave chappelle saying he started having problems with Hollywood exec wanting him to cast more "whites" on his TV show and that was the precursor to him stepping away from a highly successful show.No doubt in my mind besides very few, blacks have a real hard time in Hollywood.

Bro, it's not just in Hollywood. It's in all major entertainment period.

Take the very comicbooks most of these characters come from in the first place. The Black Panther character is amongst one of the most hated by white fanboys due to the fact that he's that damn good.

Go to any comic book message board and type in Black Panther in the search box and see what kind've craziness comes up.:smh::smh::smh:

this movie could be a reality if black hollywood put its dollars behind it. there's enough money in front of and behind the camera to make this happen. we always expect someone else to make it the way we want to see it. it never works. the only this or any other project can be made is we spend our own money to do it!

Why would "black Hollywood" make ANY major movie without a script, star or director attached who would GUARANTEE they got their money back and MORE??? It ain't about charity when it comes to big-budget films. (They already support plenty of indie and small-budget studio films, which BGOLers rarely are interested in. It's comic books or nothin' for most of this crew.)

How many people here have even seen Wesley Snipes' BEST (and best acted) film, The Waterdance?? Few and far between. :smh:

You're leaving out the most important point of all. Marvel OWNS that character.

there's a lot of black writers, producers and directors who are talented and experienced to do a project like this. some of them have made movies based on comics.

the black panther movie has been sitting on marvel's desk since the seventies. the rights could be bought crazy cheap!

Marvel is like a bad spades partner holding back trump cards. Any Marvel characters they haven't made movies with like Luke Cage and Black Panther aren't going to be made into feature films because they are probably going to use them as companion characters in Avengers movies or in team up films like a Power Man and Iron Fist movie. I don't think it has anything to do with race, but more to do with Marvel maximizing characters' potential. I mean why do a Power Man movie when you could probably make more money doing a Power Man and Iron Fist movie. Same with Black Panther. Utilize him in a team up movie as an additional character to shore up the Avengers lineup.

That being said, it will bother me if they do an Ant-Man movie because who really wants to see that? And if you can do an Ant-man movie, there is no reason that you can't do Luke Cage, Black Panther, or a Namor movie.

Casting wise, I really like Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sterling K. Brown, and possibly Idris Elba. I blogged about casting the Black Panther movie 3 years ago on my blog the last time this subject came up. Who Would You Cast as Black Panther? Also, John Singleton talked about casting both Luke Cage and Black Panther, movies that he was possibly attached to: Singleton on Casting Black Panther. These were posted 3 years ago, and once again the topic has reared its ugly head.

The best that we could hope for are spin-off movies from the Avengers series of movies, or they will be featured in Avenger movie plots. Similar to how Black Panther was used in Ultimate Avengers 2.

Like who??? Don't say Tim Story or that hack John Singleton. There's no one with the production juice to get a risky, big-budget, Afrocentric project off the ground.

Marvel Entertainment/Disney is not selling the rights to any of their characters. They are chomping at the bit to get some of the ones they sold already to revert back and there was a rumor that they made a huge offer to buy the rights back for Spiderman and X-Men. So I wouldn't expect them to let anyone else do those movies. Punisher, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, and X-Men rights all belong to other studios.

Though I hear you o your other points, I'm probably among the very few who would love to see a film on Ant-Man.

The idea of seeing a "microscopic" world on film I can dig. Especially involving man and insects. Would look really cool SFX-wise.

That's why I love films like "THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN", "FANTASTIC VOYAGE", and "HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS" (the first one).

Haven't had films like this in quite a while.

Of course they would, if there was some talent and juice behind it. They do it all the time. Hollywood couldn't be more pro-black. Unfortunately, creative black talent is scarce. It's usually white folks who make the best black movies.

can you name these shows or movies that displayed an african nation as superior to white culture?

Just about any movie from the last 40 years set in Africa or any film set in America dealing with oppression. Blacks are always portrayed as wiser, nobler and more saintly than whites. Which is fine, given the alternative.

guarantee this mufucka never Black Panther or know what the character's about. no way Wakanda will be on a hollywood motion picture screen the way it is portrayed in comics. If they did the Avengers movie the right way there would be a Black Panther in it that joined the Avengers only to find out if these crackas were a threat to Wakanda and then quit and whip Iron Man's ass on the way out the door because Tony Starks feelins was hurt when he realized he got played by a nigga. Thas how it went down in the comics.

You need to re-size your sig.

so basically you are saying that you can not name a specific movie which supports your claim about hollywood being so pro black?
