The shooting the officers were en route to happened on Egan Street near Highland Avenue. Curtis said that a woman there had been shot multiple times.

Princess Cooper, 25, of Ringgold, was transported to Ochsner-LSU Health, where she died.


Princess Cooper, 25, of Ringgold, died at just after 8 p.m. at Ochsner LSU Health hospital, according to a Caddo Parish Coroner's Office news release.
Cooper "was shot several times when found in a vacant lot in the 400 block of Egan Street shortly after 7 p.m.," the news release read.
She was identified through fingerprint comparison. An autopsy was scheduled at Ochsner LSU Health.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.

A 25-year-old woman was shot Wednesday while outside in the 400 block of Egan Street.
Two officers have been hospitalized after colliding while responding to the scene.
Nearby officers heard the shots fired and responded to the scene. But while en route, two officers collided in their police cars, Shreveport police officer Christina Curtis told The Times.
The female victim was outside in the residential area where she was shot multiple times in the upper body. She was taken to Ochsner LSU Health where she was pronounced dead.
As of 8:50 p.m., it is unknown if it was a drive-by shooting.
The two officers injured in the collision were also taken to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment of serious injures. The officers are in stable condition, Curtis said.

The shooting was reported at approximately 7:11 p.m. The major accident was reported just minutes after, according to Caddo911.
The officers crashed outside of the Wendy's restaurant at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Kings Highway.
