Last week, Sugar Shane Mosley beat Vargas for the 2nd time as he ran circles over Fernando. He showed signs of his times when he was at the 135-140 range, before he fought the likes of Forrest and Wright. In contrast, Vargas didn't do a thing in there, as he looked slower than a snail the whole fight.
This week, the "blood and guts warrior" looked like it. Arturo Gatti gave the WBC Champ Carlos Baldomir all he could throw, but Baldomir wasn't phazed and the champ knocked Gatti down twice to end the fight.
In both cases, it seems like it was the last fight for both of the losers. A lot of fight fans will miss Vargas and Gatti if they leave the sport (esp. Gatti), but for a while they held their own...
