Week 2 College Football: Virginal Tech 24 vs Tennessee 45

Weird week in College football. Are the smaller school catching up with the larger programs?

When did Virginia Tech become a smaller school  ACC?

They've had a better team than Tennessee for pretty much the past 20 years

Yes.

There used to be a time when 3 schools in the nation got the top recruits when no one knew WTF a recruit even was. There are more players out there, more training facilities, more want-to-be-millionaires and it is no longer 100% guarantee to beat FBS schools or even lower power 5 schools. When Michigan lost to Appalachain State, it was sen as a fluke, when it really was a wake up cal.
