Web Design Fees

Sup Fam, Getting my hustle off the ground and trying to figure out what to charge customers for my service. I don't want to charge so much that it kills any opportunity of getting business and at the same time I don't want to devalue the skills that most of us have.

The one thing that comes to mind is simple shit like downloading this guy's site and uploading it to a new domain and uploading an instructional video for his crew, I have been spending a lot of my time with his hosting company's tech support.

What do you guys think is a fair price?

What are you paying for your web hosting?

For sites that are under my account, I charge at least 4 times the amount I pay per month...If you are remodeling the whole site, start at around $250 deposit for basic HTML. For flash, shoot...Try for $500 down or something like that....I've seen sites where web designers bid for prices for various types of sites...Check that out and then come up with an estimate from there.

With the video thing, make sure you add on for movie conversion. You may have to give a full estimate because it is hard to charge by the hour in this working field.

Well, he is using a hosting company that he's had for awhile, I'm not redesigning the site only moving it from one server to another with the same hosting company, converting the media file and uploading it as I type. I guess I will search for the bidding sites that you suggested.
