I took a ride in a Waymo the other day. Unless you are in the bay area, specifically San Francisco you may not have ever seen or heard of it. It a car service like Uber or Lyft but the cars are autonomous and dont have a driver. Same concept though you put the app on your phone, connect a credit card and you are ready to go. There is a waiting list right now, if you put the app on your phone you need an invite code to use it. A friend of mine actually got me a code but he said you can hit them up on Twitter and they will send you and invite within a week.
It was a pretty cool experience, I hit the pick up spot, car showed up 4 mins later. When it arrives you have to unlock the doors with your phone to get in it. You can get in the back or front seats, it dont matter. They are Jaguar SUV's, very nice and a comfortable ride. They do obey the speed limit and all traffic laws and shit like that, so if you are a person that does 10 over the limit because there is no traffic these cars do not do this. It will look for a safe place to let you out, and it has a button that you can use if you want to pullover and pick up that bitch at the bus stop drinking a 40.
You can link your spotify or google music account to your Waymo app so that you can have your own music when you get in the car. I really enjoyed the ride and I most likely will not be using Uber or Lyft while I am here in SF. The whole down side is the service is only available in SF, the cars do not leave the city. Other than that if you are going to be in SF you gotta take a ride.
