Wage Theft...
The scheme works like this, fire you, let you stay unemployed for awhile (collusion of employers), than offer you a lowball salary for another position with other companies that are involved. You get calls while you are unemployed but are not hired; no company hires you while working.
Everything is designed to limit your leverage to negotiate higher pay. Intentionally terminating you to drive your wage down, only hiring you after you been unemployed for awhile, not hiring when you are employed.
They fill your position with somebody that is desperate, that does your work for less money. Employers hire you later for significantly less money after your money runs down and after they reject you a bunch of times to reduce your confidence.
I noticed that I have never received a job offer from a company while working, it is always after I am unemployed for a year or two, for significantly less money. The only time I was able to quit and take another position was for a government position, the pay scale is fixed. It really became obvious when I got two job offers when unemployment benefits were uncertain (being debated by Congress) and a pending government shutdown.
There could be a racial component to it, or it is pure greed, a few people are targeted with this scheme to keep their salary low.
Capitalism at its finest, having people that are employable being kept intentionally unemployed to drive their wage down. The people involved belong in a zoo with animals.
