WARNING: Video contains disturbing images. Viewer discretion is advised. Emergency crews performed multiple extrications after an eight-vehicle crash reportedly caused by a transit bus in north Mississauga, Ont., left a woman dead and multiple people injured, officials say. The crash happened in the area of Derry and Rexwood roads, just west of Highway 427. Emergency services responded to the scene at 9:35 a.m. Thursday. “From what I understand, multiple vehicles were stopped at the Derry Road and Rexwood intersection facing eastbound when the bus continued through, causing the initial collision,” Peel Regional Police Const. Sarah Patten told Global News. A chain reaction ensued, she said, leading to eight vehicles being involved in total.

Damn. Condolences to her family & strength to the other crash victims.

Been involved in 2 bus accidents myself. Oddly enough - late-90s or early-00s - same bus route (opposite directions) and less than a half block apart. Each time I was sitting in the window seat near back right tire.

First time a lady rolled through a stop sign in making her right turn. Drove into us (ON THE BUS) & then quickly ran aboard asking for witnesses ON HER SIDE to back her up that it was the bus' fault. The driver and minimal number of passengers looked at her like WTF / fuck off.

The 2nd time we were (THE BUS) making a left turn in the intersection and a person ran the red as we started to make our turn. That was scary as they were driving quite fast on a slight bend in the road & downhill. Luckily they weren't injured, nor were passengers. Fair bit of damage to their car & the bus though.
