“I was living in a complex and I had issues with a few of the lighter-skinned people. I used to live near a lawyer and when I moved in, he said to me ‘be careful, they don’t like to see young people strive,’” Bolt recalled before revealing he was 23 when he moved in and that some neighbours weren’t happy to see him in the complex.

Usain Bolt unprecedented third consecutive appearance on personality programme, Profile aired on TVJ.

“When it started happening to me, I had to rush and build my house so I can have my own place. A lot of them, because dem go school and work years and years to reach, and me just come up and because of sports mi get everything, dem nuh happy. I couldn’t deal with it any more. It was getting worse and direct.” [sic]

Bolt said he has experienced ‘strong badmind’ from mostly people in the upper class in contrast to the positive reactions of ordinary Jamaicans.

He is probably skipping some details, I'm sure anyone would be happy to have a world renowned person move in their neighborhood, problems probably started when the neighbors saw the people he was inviting into the neighborhood.

Party clown: Jodi Stewart Henriques slammed Bolt over his antics
The wife of rapper Sean Paul, and neighbour of Usain Bolt, has apologised for comments she made about the Olympic sprinter.

Jodi Stewart Henriques had said she hoped Bolt would 'go back to wear he came from', but has taken to Facebook to retract her comments.

She initially called Bolt a 'horrible neighbour', and called him a 'party clown'.

Henriques said: "Between the bikes, loud, horrid music, parties and screams, I honestly wish he would go back to where he came from. He’s a horrible neighbour.

"He takes his nasty behaviour with him everywhere. He’s the ultimate party clown."

However, she has now apologised for the online rant, saying she should have handled the matter privately.

Her new post read: "After some much needed introspection I would like to publicly apologize for the comments made about Usain Bolt. Not only were they unwarranted but also highly inappropriate and for this I am truly sorry.

"My intention was never to degrade or disrespect anyone but without realising, I did. I allowed pent up frustration to get the better of me and did not conduct myself in a respectful manner.

Apology: Jodi Stewart Henriques said she let frustration get the better of her
"I apologise to those persons who I hurt, including friends, family my husband, and the Jamaican people at large but especially Usain Bolt.

"Although I am and have been frustrated by the disturbances, I should have dealt with this in a private and more civil manner. My intentions are to speak with Usain, discuss this regrettable incident and personally apologise."

Maybe they dont fuck with you because you are viewed as a sellout by some and love white women once you made it rich and famous Usain...:dunno:

I understand the angle you are coming from but that's not what's happening in this case...Jamaica has extremely deep class divisions

he used 'classism' but people know 'new money' or 'hood rich' when they see it. The cat that gives his buddies from the gully the gate code and never tells them to turn their music down a couple blocks before they reach the complex. The kind that has all that space but they are the only ones hanging out in the front yard staring down the Milfs. If he moved around here he would raise eyebrows even if he was a coder or trust fund baby.

I read it twice. I feel the same way whether it's church folks having a set in a McMansion subdivision with 35+ cars lining the streets or a bunch of MLM/Mary Kay/Avon hustlers having a showing - it feels invasive. Renting the Elks/Masonic lodge or Hotel Lobby for your crap won't break the bank, keep your loud guests out of the neighborhood. I know a mofo has a right to do what the hell they please in their own yard it just feels xtra hood when it's not your guests.

I can tell you classism stories from within my own family. My mother is dark skin. I have an aunt who bleached her skin. I have uncles and aunts that look like grant hill.

If you're not proud of who you are, that's on you.

That is part of it....but me and you both know that that isn't all of it...some people would still vex if he was quiet as a church mouse...granted Usain being a national hero would not be given the same level of disdain as another Black sufferer who finally makes it (such as a DJ etc)

Exactly. Matterhorn had the Rav 4 scratched a couple times *after* he moved into the hills, funny thing is the fuckery started when the parties stopped and he moved his mom in. The difference is he let everybody concerned know he was partying... after moving due to complaints from his first neighborhood. Heh.
I was coming at it from the angle that it is universal, newsy neighbors will tell the news, if they can't they will create it. Nobody escapes that fate.

Jamaica is losing when shit like this goes public. They have the same color issues BY DESIGN, as we in America do. Same shit different soil
