Unions vs. Republicans Further proof of Class Warfare?

After watching the gamesmenship displayed during this latest fleecing of the American tax payer, called the "$14b Auto Bailout". I'm struck by the idea that it really is and has been the Southern Republican strategy to bring the destruction of workers unions (fare living wages) in the US.

Some of their arguments against Unions are valid complaints to the average onlooker, but I would suggest that Unions in general have done much more for the American economy, worker safety, worker well being, product quality, and ultimately the efficiency of the companies, than they have done anything detrimental.

When I see Senator Corker and the rest of the anti-American auto worker bunch favor Honda, Hondai, BMW and the rest of the foreign car manufacturers operating in their districts, I feel like they are blatant traitors to not only the American people but to their own constituents working for reduced wages in less safe conditions.

It may be that I'm way off base here, and that paying people enough to feed, house and clothe a family is an uncalled for abuse of a united front,.......:smh:....... but I bet I'm not.

WASHINGTON — Senate negotiators worked feverishly on Thursday night to revive a government rescue of the American auto industry after Senate Republicans balked at supporting a $14 billion emergency loan package approved by the House.

The late talks at the Capitol centered on changes to the rescue plan, put forward by Senator Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee, that would require steep concessions by the United Automobile Workers and by creditors to General Motors and Chrysler.................http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/12/business/12auto.html?bl&ex=1229144400&en=402e6793db93da56&ei=5087%0A

I couldn't believe that shit when I was watching the news today. Let me get this right blue collar workers are making too much money. That's the problem... get the fuck out of here. It continues to baffle me that anyone making under 100,000 would ever vote for these idiots.

Damn right it is. Republicans really don't give a shit about the middle. McCain never even talked about the middle and when that became a problem, he grabbed Joe the Plumber to sell some bullshit idea that he was for the middle class.

Didn't see those republicans talking this kind of "accountability shit" when it came to handing out billions to wall street. 200 billion of that 850 billion went out and no one has a clue where it went. So they claim.

i long for the day when workers will rise up and lynch those lying rapist scumbag fucks
:smh:

Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Even when the foreign auto makers pay employees more in many cases than the UAW negotiated for, Republicans still attempt to destroy the American blue collar workers. Even when the UAW agrees to cut wages within a two year period, and accept reduced wages for new hires, Republican Senators conspire to spit in the faces of American Auto makers.

Now its up to "W", to save the millions of jobs across the country that will be lost if nothing is done.............:smh:

Don't overlook the fact that one of the reasons the Republicans are against the Auto 3 and their unions is because they have foreign car manufacturers in southern states like Georgia and Alabama. No US car manufacturing would benefit the industries in their states because foreign manufacturers plants would increase in size by dominating the US market furthermore.

The most important thing is that this particular bailout was killed. Freedom tripped, stumbled foward, and fell into a win. Unfortunately, this welfare attempt didn't die based on a principle of no bailouts from government, so freedom will be kicked in the teeth backwards many more times in the future.

ON POINT.
