Weave continues to be one of the biggest embarrassments of the black community. Without audio its hard to tell what went down. But I can say one thing. If I found myself in jail wearing one of these:
Could I really expect to be able to continue wearing it? There's no difference in a clown wig and a head full of weave. If it's not a natural part of your anatomy the cops ain't gonna let you keep it.

I think so, they were making big fuss of special treatment when Lindsy LOhan was allowed to keep her extensions in during stint....who knew.
A weave is a wig sewn on your head. Why should you be allowed t keep it on in jail. ANy more than a hat..?
Sooooo...what woulda happened if that lady stabbed the prisoner with those scissors? She coulda waited until she was fully restrained. Just seems really stupid, either way...

Weaves are illegal in the penitentiary. So if she was going to prison it was totally legal. If she was stopped and arrested for speeding or something then I don't know.
She will get a nice settlement that will buy her that good weave..

Let's say you're right. The cops have the right to forcefully remove it from you just like that. I doubt it. I am pretty sure there is a lawsuit and some people that will be losing their jobs.

“I was confused. I didn’t know what happened and what was going on,” said Gregory.
Warren police officials say they do ask prisoners to remove clipped-in long hair extensions, so they can’t be used as a weapon or to commit suicide. But a weave is different, and Police Commissioner Jere Green says what Officer Bernadette Najor did was not a proper use of force.
“There’s a real simple thing: it’s called right and wrong. And to me this is something that I won’t tolerate, I don’t think the citizens of Warren will tolerate it,” said Green.

depends on the state. some prisons and jails make u get a cut right after you're processed just like the military to combat head lice and other critters. but some of u dudes sound made naive about the system. when you get into the system FOR REAL? yo azz has nearly NO RIGHTS. they have to feed your azz the minimum nutritional requirements and clothe you with the most basic sheit. that's it.
