A BBC investigation has revealed that some UK Indian women are apparently returning to India to abort unwanted daughters

Thanks for the post. This is something that has been on my mind a long time. I have often been critical of females who seem to have a negative view of western society. The subject of the article is one of my main reasons. The morays of the other dominant cultures in this world are often VERY negative towards the value and females, and the rights they should enjoy. The Chinese still drown female children, and the Indians still openly adhere to a Caste system. Not to mention the Arab culture. Western society, while not perfect, is the birthplace of legislated individual rights, which includes female rights. Holla.

Had first-hand experience with this--I just resigned from an abortion clinic last month and I'll never forget an Indian woman that came in with her husband to terminate. She barely spoke English but she was able to communicate that the reason was not that they couldn't afford another baby, or because there was something medically wrong, or she was raped, but because she wanted to have a boy...they had 3 girls already and she just couldn't have another one.
