And that's perfectly fine. You know you. Not everyone should own a gun. Some people need others to defend them. Such people need to then concentrate even more on awareness. Even if you know how to fight and are armed, awareness is always number 1. But people such as yourself just have to be that much more careful.

It's better to admit it like you do as opposed to trying to act tough.

Agreed. For me awareness looks like,

Leaving a party when a fight breaks out (unless it involves me or someone I know).

Glancing at reflections in storefront windows when walking down dark streets

Never using back pockets.

Calling a cab when carrying a bunch of cash

Walking around corners on the edge of the sidewalk

Never using anything stronger than weed outside the house

Staying away from dope corners after dark

Getting to know my neighbors.
