I had a job where I basically worked from home but during the week I would have to go out on appointments I would frequently sit in Starbucks or other similar locations in between appointments. I wouldn’t buy anything because I don’t drink coffee but I would use their wi fi for my laptop.

It doesn’t matter what they professions are they could have been two black homeless people the point is they were doing what millions of people do in Starbucks daily... just sitting there
On a side note, Philly looks like its right on the gentrification train and I have been hearing lots of discrimination stories coming out of there in regards to real estate of late...this story just adds to the list
Yep buy one coffee and get on the laptop and sit there for hours and hours working using the free WiFi. Always thought this concept from a biz standpoint was dumb.
If that was an independent small biz, you know a waitress would be there every ten mins asking you, "can I get you anything else? you good? need anything else?"

I've walked into several starbucks just to use the restroom and not once have I been told by the barista to buy or leave.
Cacs come in starbucks all the time just to read their books and use their internet hogging up the table never purchasing a damn thing and are allowed to stay.
I see homeless people crashing in starbucks on a regular and not once have I seen police called on them for it.
