Sam Neill Boards Legendary’s Next Monsterverse Film

No word on the role he’ll tackle. The Last Train to New York, the American remake of South Korea's zombie horror hit Train to Busan, has been slow moving, especially after Warner Bros. removed the planned film from its release calendar entirely. However, James Wan, a producer on the project through company Atomic Monster, tells Entertainment Weekly, "That's definitely still a passion project of ours."

The Burbank, CA lot has had the movie rights since 2002 with directors like Stephen Norrington, Albert Hughes, Jaume Collet-Serra and Taika Waititi circling. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian way was circling and at one point, Akira, had an $18.5M California Tax credit. Boardwalk Empire star Michael Pitt was even attached to the project at one point, and then Garret Hedlund. Kristen Stewart, Helena Bonham-Carter and Ken Watanabe even kicked the tires on Akira.

HBO Max in the U.S. will feature a sampling of 15 of BritBox series, at no additional cost to HBO Max subscribers, for a two-month promotional period.

HBO Max is crossing the Pond in a new promotional pact with BritBox, the streamer specializing in U.K. TV dramas, comedies and murder mysteries.

From Aug. 1 through Sept. 29, HBO Max in the U.S. will feature a sampling of 15 of BritBox series, at no additional cost to HBO Max subscribers. The shows will be presented on HBO Max through a dedicated in app rail called “The Best of British TV by BritBox.” The lineup includes the original U.K. version of Ricky Gervais’ “The Office” mocku-series and the first two seasons of “Luther” starring Idris Elba...
