TV: Sinbad talks Cosby, Different World, racism, etc (Good Interview) 35 Anniversary!

Promoting colleges as a way to improve upward mobility rather than starting businesses and entrepreneurship was a mistake. Along with being a prop for supremacist genocide, this was another one of his big mistakes.

Paying for colleges was one of the biggest wealth transfer out of the black community outside of slavery into the hands of some white, asian, or indian administrator/professor at some white university. Paying for colleges should only be done through student loans, any assistance provided by your parents should be real estate to boost generational wealth.

If your college degree does not materialize into a lucrative opportunity dump that shit on to the government as bad debt.

2 YEARS SINCE STROKE ...Family Says He's Still Learning to Walk

Sinbad suffered a life-changing stroke 2 years ago ... and in the first update since his medical emergency, the star's family says he's got a long road ahead of him on the way to recovery.
The family put out a lengthy release Monday, saying Sinbad was in the hospital for 9 months before his July release. They say he's still "fighting for every inch," and his limbs that were said to be "dead" are coming back to life. They say he's taking all the steps he can to learn how to walk again.

Sinbad's family says the survival rate from a stroke like his is around 30% ... but they're celebrating him beating those odds. His family also says they're looking for some help in the process ... noting the costs of his therapy have "far exceeded" what insurance covers.

They say it's taken a financial toll on them, and they've set up a website for anyone looking to contribute in any way they can.
As we reported, the comedian was recovering from a stroke in November of 2020 ... with his family saying they were "faithful and optimistic that he will bring laughter into our hearts soon."
Turns out, it was caused by a blood clot that traveled from his heart to brain, and after the first, he got another clot -- followed by brain swelling and a bleed.

I'm glad they finally gave an update on him, I've been looking regularly since his stroke in November 2020 with no real updates so I was concerned that he was going to end up like Biz (R.I.P.)

Glad to see that he's still with us and recovering however slow it may be, hopefully he'll continue to improve.

Honestly I felt a certain way during the A Different World press and anniversary buzz recently due to there being no mention of Sinbad (that I saw) which was odd.

However, I didn't see all the interviews so maybe he eas mentioned or maybe he and his family requested that they not mention his name which could draw unwanted attention to him while he's recovering.

But if these aren't the case it would be pretty foul.

Thanks for the update, @playahaitian. I've been wondering how he was doing. I'm just still glad he's still here.

this brother deserves all the credit.

Sinbad is thanking fans for the support he's seen in the wake of his first public appearance since having a stroke in 2020.

The comedian and actor made a virtual appearance at the A Different World HBCU College Tour event on Feb. 29 at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, to join his fellow castmates from the beloved sitcom to raise money for HBCU scholarships and encourage enrollment. (He played Coach Walter Oakes on the sitcom, which aired for six seasons from 1987 to 1993.)

"Man, that was so cool. A Different World going to Atlanta, going to Morehouse College and on campuses and getting a chance to be on Zoom and say something to the kids," Sinbad said in an Instagram video he shared on Monday. "It's wild that the kids even know who I am. That's beautiful."

The video featured him marveling at a clip of his appearance, which captured very loud cheers from the audience when he appeared on screen at the event.

"Thank you to everybody who's been praying for me and saying good things and supporting me during this time in my life. It means a lot to me," he shared.

Sinbad finished his message by promising fans they'll be seeing more of him. "Expect to see more of me soon," he said, adding, "You better believe it. Miracles happen."

He further wrote in the caption, "Thank you for your prayers, support, and positive thoughts. They’ve carried me this far and will see me through to the finish line. It really is a different world out here!"

In Oct. 2020, the comedian's family shared in a statement on his website that he had suffered a stroke due to a blood clot traveling from his heart to his brain. Two years after the health scare, the Jingle All the Way star's family posted a photo of him learning how to walk again on Instagram. At the time, the family said in a statement, "He continues to receive therapy, fighting for every inch. His progress is nothing short of remarkable."

Monday's Instagram update was the first from the star himself since his family's message in Nov. 2022.
