When The Shop returns for its fifth season on March 4, LeBron James’ talk show will be broadcast from a new home.
The Emmy-winning program created by Paul Rivera and Randy Mims for Uninterrupted is relocating from HBO exclusively to YouTube. The series premiered in August 2018.

According to James’ SpringHill company, which created the Uninterrupted sports platform, the decision to move The Shop from HBO to YouTube is to give a larger audience access to the show’s discussions. Grey Goose has become the presenting sponsor.
“When I was growing up, the barbershop is the first place I ever heard real, open dialogue about things that were going on. It’s the place where my community could come together and be real,” James said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s why we created The Shop, where people from all walks of life can come together as a community to have honest discussions about important topics.”

Continued James, “Now we’re excited to keep that conversation going, making it more accessible for everyone without limitations or constraints. Through it all, we’re empowering our team, our audience, our community and everyone who watches or steps foot in The Shop. We can’t wait for people to continue this journey with us.”
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar will continue to serve as an executive producer with the creative and production arm of Uninterrupted. The Shop’s formula, in which James and Maverick Carter take part in the deep and insightful discussions about music, sports, entertainment, race and politics with movie and sports stars, will remain the same. Episodes of The Shop will also become available as podcasts.
Past guests on The Shop include former President Barack Obama, Odell Beckham Jr., Snoop Dogg, Drake, Draymond Green, Candace Parker, Jon Stewart, Mary J. Blige, Ice Cube, Jimmy Kimmel, Nas, Lena Waithe, Will Smith, Gov. Gavin Newsom and more in the professional sports and entertainment world.
The fifth season of The Shop with guests with Donald Glover, J Balvin, Quinta Brunson and Lamar Jackson drops the morning of March 4 on Uninterrupted’s YouTube channel.

EXCLUSIVE: ‘The Shop’ pulls episode featuring Kanye West
The UNINTERRUPTED show, produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, decided not to air the recently filmed episode

In an exclusive statement to Andscape, Maverick Carter, the SpringHill Company CEO, said a recently-taped episode of The Shop featuring Kanye West will not air.
“Yesterday we taped an episode of The Shop with Kanye West. Kanye was booked weeks ago and, after talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped, I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.
“We have made the decision not to air this episode or any of Kanye’s remarks. While The Shop embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions, we have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate.
“I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”
Sources close to the production say West doubled down on his recent antisemitic remarks during the episode. Other guests included shoe designer Salehe Bembury and Jeezy, whom West collaborated with on 2008’s Grammy-nominated record “Put On.” Los Angeles Laker and SpringHill Company co-founder LeBron James was not present at the taping.
The pulled episode of The Shop is just another incident in a string of bizarre media moments for West in the last week. During West’s recent runway show at Paris Fashion Week, his decision to debut shirts with the phrase “White Lives Matter” drew immediate criticism. Sherrilyn Ifill, the former president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, called West’s rhetoric “dangerous.”
His Oct. 6 appearance on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight featured comments on abortion in the Black community, being a political outsider, singer Lizzo’s body, and, of course, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
West’s social media accounts were restricted after he reproduced a text conversation with Sean “Diddy” Combs on Instagram (he threatened to use Combs as “an example” to the Jewish people) — and later tweeted that he planned to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” On Tuesday, Motherboard obtained unaired footage from West’s interview with Carlson. The unedited clips showed West continuing to make antisemitic remarks.

The Shop Pulls Ye Interview After He ‘Reiterated More Hate Speech’

LeBron James’s talk show, The Shop, will no longer air a recently filmed interview with Kanye West. Co-host and producer Maverick Carter said in a statement that the rapper doubled down on hate speech he previously shared on social media. “Yesterday we taped an episode of The Shop with Kanye West,” Carter wrote in an October 11 statement to Andscape. “Kanye was booked weeks ago and, after talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped, I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.” Sources close to the production said Ye made additional anti-Semitic remarks while filming the show. “We have made the decision not to air this episode or any of Kanye’s remarks. While The Shop embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions, we have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate.”

On October 6, West wore a shirt with the phrase “White Lives Matter” and appeared on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight to make additional outlandish statements about abortion and body positivity, dragging Lizzo into it. He capped the weekend with anti-Semitic tweets on October 9. The following day, Motherboard obtained unaired footage of the Tucker Carlson interview in which West also made anti-Semitic comments. “I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience,” Carter finished. Weird that West is still finding platforms after (gestures) all this, but we digress.
