TV Discussion: The Walking Dead - Daryl Dixon UPDATE: Now on Netflix!

Season 1
Episode 6

Got home last night and watched the season finale this morning.

Interesting start of the episode showing the beach of Normandy during WW2 with the dead US soldiers. A dogtag of one of the soldiers explained what the scene was about.

Daryl confronted the artificial mutant walkers and took them down like Captain America. Good scene with him and the French Flag.

Cordon for whatever reason got a change of heart along with the group finding the Nest.

Daryl made a final decision to stay in France.

And Carol made her debut to end the season!

It was listed as a 2 hour episode, the 2nd hour was a BTS, making of special.

Looking forward to Season 2.

Like I always said, doing a zombie apocalypse, you have to worry about the non-zombies more than the zombies.

Finally watching...

It's crazy and you can see they took it up a level and wanted to get to try all the things they couldn't do or not able to do.

The birthing, the Orchestra the moat the garden, etc...

And a very consistent vibe look and feel.on episode 4 now.

Debating on watching it now or waiting to all episodes debut.

There are only 6 episodes, binging them back to back is like watching a 3 hour plus film.

Season 2
6 episodes

I managed to get home last night to reset my HOS clock.

So I decided to binge the new season this morning at home.

It picked up immediately after the events of season 1 finale.

Carol used her hustling skills to get a Red Dot Indian dude to fly her to France. We learned that Carol is still suffering from PTSD from losing her daughter Sophia early on from “The Walking Dead”.

Carol and Ash met 2 batshit crazy chicks living on Greenland that was pure comedy.

Marion’s backstory was revealed and what her plans are with the Walkers. The Walking Dead officially goes “28 Days Later” with this season.

This season/series is the first time that current politics, racism and immigration was brought up in the franchise. They did the good job without being preachy about it.

No information given on if Marion was connected to the CRM. Major General Johnathan Beale of the CRM (Rick and Michonne) stated they sent people around the world to expand their plans.

We got some insight on Daryl and Carol’s relationship with each other.

It was a decent season, nothing spectacular but it basically closed out the France story line.

And it looks like Season 3 has been filmed. We got a teaser of it after the season finale.

Season 3

7/10

I watched the newly released season today at home recorded on my DVR.

The season starts out with a new Spanish themed opening sequence.

It starts out immediately after the events of season 2 finale with Daryl/Carol getting thru the Chunnel into England. It starts off with classic suspense action with them going against Walkers and there is more about their relationship shown in the first episode.

A new character is introduced in England named Julian and he gives an update on what happened to England when the Walker apocalypse started to current time. Daryl/Carol convince him to use his boat to get back to America and that turns into a disaster, with them having no experience on a boat. It brings them to Spain where the season plays out.

Carol goes full militant when she observes how Spain is conducting their politics/community based on old and obsolete traditions that don’t favor women. Daryl is focused on getting back to America while Carol is getting herself involved in the locals politics that she is stubbornly against.

Carol starts getting close to one of the men in the village they are staying at, which is influencing her decision to help, which affects her relationship with Daryl. The question of their personal relationship is brought up in a humorous way, no definite answer still not given. There are flashback scenes of Daryl as a child, it looks like there will be more in the future explaining who he is. There might be some flashback scenes for Carol before the apocalypse, coming up soon.

Episode 5 has the Old Time Daryl come back as a one man fighting machine.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is a LW/LW relationship between two attractive women, all that is shown is PDA.

Season 4 has been approved and is in production in Spain now. It will be the final season debuting late 2026.

Looking forward to it.
