"Blackout countdown – update!

By Melissa Hank

Find out how many new episodes will air until your favourite series go dark

With the Writers Guild of America strike still underway, we’re growing closer and closer to The Fadeout Seen ‘Round the World (and, in some cases we’re already there).

Though the screenwriters and major studios are still in talks, it’s unlikely key issues – like a bigger cut of DVD sales and Internet downloads for writers – will be resolved in time to salvage the current TV season.

Here’s an update of when you can expect to stop seeing new episodes of your favourite shows, courtesy of our friends at http://www.TVGuide.com. (Note: not all shows are included, since some information wasn’t available at press time.)

Seems like PRISON BREAK gets shafted all the time. Hard to follow that series with all the breaks. Remember last season they went on that fall hiatus where they had the lengthened season (and had a 3 - 3.25 month break or some shit?) ... that kind of stuff can't be good for series. Ugh.

no family guy or boondocks or everybody hates chris or history channel on that list. go ahead go on strike- stay on strike.

nnow whats this all about? pay or more about the restain of creativity the writers can use?

One of the big areas = "Though the screenwriters and major studios are still in talks, it’s unlikely key issues – like a bigger cut of DVD sales and Internet downloads for writers – will be resolved in time to salvage the current TV season."

Bigger cut of dvd sales = a clear biggie

Cut of Internet downloads = that one's gonna be a challenge in that we all know how popular/readily available all the tv/movie streaming sites out there are ... they're HUGE the past 2 years (especially)

Great story about a young 15yo kid who passed away of flu-related complications three weeks ago. See the Youtube clip below the article for "Nathan Plays Piano". Office fans will really dig this:

'AN OFFICE DEDICATION':

"Joal Ryan Fri Apr 4, 12:38 PM ET

Los Angeles (E! Online) - By all accounts, Nathan Robinson was a 15-year-old who loved math, music and The Office.

On Thursday night (April 3rd), Robinson's favorite TV show paid on-air tribute to the Massachusetts high-school student who died March 14 of flu-related complications.

The in memoriam dedication appeared during the end credits of the NBC comedy's 9 p.m. episode. It was accompanied by grainy home video of Robinson playing the show's theme on the piano.

It appears the powers that be at The Office learned of Robinson and his rendition of their theme music after the Boston Globe ran a feature on the teen on March 21.

The story noted Robinson's love of everything from Beethoven to the paper pushers of Dunder-Mifflin. It also recounted, how a few weeks before his death, Robinson and a friend got to talking about their favorite TV series. When the friend suggested Robinson, a talented pianist, take a crack at the show's title tune, Robinson did. The resulting 32-second video, "Nathan Plays Piano," was posted on YouTube the day after Robinson's death (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61xdHIMGsR0 ).

The clip, which even after the Globe story ran could hardly be called an Internet phenomenon, was starting to head that way in the wake of its exposure on The Office. On Friday, the video was attracting thousands of views, and dozens of comments.

"I saw this while watching The Office last night, like everyone else here. And, like everyone else here, I was moved by it, so I just had to go on here and watch his playing," one post said. "He was so talented..."

Said another: "Classy move by The Office to pay tribute to one of their fans. Rest in peace, young man."

Kate, the friend who shot and posted the video—she didn't want to disclose her last name—wrote in an email to E! News Friday that it was overwhelming to see people from all over reach out to Robinson.

"It was really amazing!" Kate wrote. "Nathan was such a fan of The Office, and he would have been so excited."
