I want to start a bottled tea company where i make the tea bottle it up and sell it.My question is with making the tea can i use tea from other companies like lipton by buying their tea bags and making my tea then having it bottled and selling it. Or do i have to grow my own tea to brew and sell?

Yo dog, I'm trying to figure out a couple things.

Where you gonna get the bottles from? How you gonna bottle them shits? What is your plan for distribution? Are you gonna be on the corner selling your Lipton tea bag" iced tea to Pookie and 'em? Ain't nobody gonna buy your shit if its not in a sealed container. What is your plan for that? What you working with? What type of containers you gonna brew your shit in? If you brew your shit in iron pots the pots will absorb some of the flavor of the tea and leak some of the iron taste into the tea from the pot. Why didn't I use INDENT, Paragraph?????????

INDENT PARAGRAPH!!!!!!

:smh::smh:

All those are great questions and im glad you asked them because they brought up some important issues for me. I think there is a independent company to bottle them but im not really sure. But honestly, im just in the waaaayyyyy beginning stages. I know it looks like I just woke up and said ima start a tea company. But, thats why I posted. Its an idea now but I need help on the reality of it from yall so I can cover each angle and learn more. I have an idea but I do need help for all of your questions above, Do you have any suggestions for some of the questions you stated? I just need some help to get started with those. Totally new to the game.

Nah, I actually don't have any ideas I can share just yet. I just pictured me buying tea from some dude on the corner that "says" his tea is better than Lipton's. I pictured no label on the bottle and no seal on the cap. I wouldn't touch that shit cause I don't know you.

You need to find out local laws as well. What licenses do you need? What is the shelf life of your shit? I used to know somebody who started an organic juice company back in the late 90's. He had a great idea. He would bottle and sell natural juices. All natural ingredients. He had a decent local market (california) and decided to start distributing his shit nationally.

Come to find out, by the time his juices shipped to NY it only had a 3 day shelf life because he didn't use an preservatives. You figure by the time a truckload of shit gets delivered to a supermarket it sits for at least a day ... then somebody has to stock it. So you figure it takes 1-2 days to even get on the shelf ... 1 day shelf life for juice!!:smh::eek::smh:

That was a very expensive lesson.

From here on out I will charge you for my consulting services.

Peace

Cyba, you're a good dude for always trying to help people out on the business end of things. All your efforts are appreciated!

first you are gonna have to buy your tea from a distributer/manufacturer,,you can't resell sombodies else's shit w/o thier permission

I knew a lady that had a BAGGED TEA BIZ - she bought her Tea from distributors & made different blends from it in her kitchen

so you probably can buy the Tea ,then brew it yourself

hope this helps
