but they have an ulterior motive. they are hoping he goes off script and gives them some live soundbites. and if one legacy network airs it then the others feel that they lost the "breaking news" edge. so they will all air it just in case so they can get their juicy soundbite live.

Besides it takes some attention away from the negative Mueller investigation and govt. shutdown press as well.
