how is the violence down there?

the way whitey reports it, you have to be on guard at all times due to the kidnappings and the insane murder rate

but the devil likes to make us look bad too

It's violent. As violent as any American inner city.

Is that the entire island or is it specific neighborhoods?

when youre on vacay, you want to unwind and not deal or worry about the bullshit

I still can't compare any town in Trinidad to any of of the hoods of the US: DC, B'more, Irvington / Newark, East New York, Brownsville, etc :smh:

Crime is high with kidnapping, robbery, etc... but not on scale with the US... Shit the gov't and media freaked out over finding 1000 assorted guns comming in... thats just an annual bust in the Bronx...

I'm not from Trinidad, I'm from Tobago. But from the way by cousins talk, it's the entire island.

Trinidad surpassed Jamaica as far as the crime rate goes a few years back...I heard even Tobago has gotten bad...ironically someone my family was remotely familiar w/ in my aunt's town was kidnapped a while ago...the body was just recently found :smh:

It's not that bad. You go party, you don't flaunt yourself, you head back to your spot. The only thing I'm afraid of there is the driving. Now that shit is bad.

it sounds awful to me and thats a place id love to visit

driving in jamaica is crazy also Iwont ever do it again but they paved alot of the highways that use to b dirt roads

If you want to party you go to Tinidad.. Yes there are a lot of Dangers.. Gangs.. And shit.. But just mind your business be smart and if you fucking. Wear two condoms.. The billboards will tell you why.. :smh: But if you want to vacation and relax.. And see beautiful sites.. Tobago is where it's at.. Cuz Trinidad is ugly and has no photo opp :smh:unless is a Dougla girl.,

Trinidad has just as much crime as any inner city, Chicago, NY etc its just over exemplified because its a small island... but most of the major crime comes in certain areas of the country. And to be quite frank during the festival time its probably one of the most safetest times in the country because of all the police and army presence. There may be an increase of petty crime pick pocketers etc ppl looking for tourists slipping up... but all u need to do is do what u would regualry do when going into any uncharated territory here in the states!!

Yea the government need to protect their almighty carnival.. Cuz that's all the island has going for itself..

That's untrue... I went to Trini Carnival in 2010. It was a good time...

There were fights that broke out in the evening of the actual Carnival day but it was between local gangs not travelers... You just had to be on guard. Cats I was with got pickpocketed, but they were also so drunk, wilin, and sloppy with some drunk chics(something I never do when travelling) that they were easy targets. They were robbed by little boys...

Don't believe the hype, Trini Carnival is fine. Have fun...

...Just make sure your 6 pack is in full effect. It's women's Brazil, they act like guys down there, very physical... And you're basically going to have on boxers the whole time... It's a meat-market and chics work out for months before they go--I'm down with that! ENJOY!

(I love when people spew propaganda, even if they haven't been... it makes it better for me, increases the ratio of pretty chics to me, all love  )

Join a site like Trinicarnivaldiary (I think that's the name of the site) to get your intel game up... But if you don't have your plane ticket and accommodations yet, not sure you're going this year... Maybe next year...

Fass and blasted out of place, you're probably a Bajan, no disrespect to my other Bajan brothers on the board, but listen to this, and learn something we don't need Carnival to survive! Our Oil and gas alone makes up more GDP than tourist going to Barbados, St. Lucia and St.Kitts/Nevis for years! Where are you from? Speaking on things you don't know, crime is bad anywhere you go,however, our crime rate isn't as bad as some other places, a lot of the media sensationalize a lot of the stories that you hear, and while things have escalated somewhat in Kidnappings etc, read the stories of who is getting kidnapped and then connect the 'dots'!

Yeah whatever, some Trini girl broke your heart? You sound sort a bitter dude just saying. And yeah I am Trini:dance

Does it sound like English when they speak over here? NO!

Then it would sound worse of there. :smh:

It's str8 english, but it's just that the locals or natives speak very fast and if u'r ears aren't accustomed to that dialect, twang or even accent it will sound very unsual to the point u gotta process in u'r mind every sentence that was just spoken to you. The same thing can be said about people who live and are born in New York. The first time I heard a real New Yorker talk, it tripped me the fuck out. I would nod or shake my head like I knew what a motherfucker was saying to me, even though I didn't have a clue. But yet I knew he was speaking English at the same time:lol:

Yours Truly......Professor
