Tory Lanez is pushing back against claims that his streams have fallen since the shooting incident with Megan Thee Stallion

After weeks of speculation, rapper Tory Lanez has finally broken his silence following the shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion, but fans are disappointed about what part of the controversy he chose to address.

Last week, Forbes reported that fans who were upset at the Toronto native for allegedly shooting Meg had boycotted his music, causing his streams to plummet by a whopping 40% after she named him as her attacker.

“Tory’s audio streams were consistently in the 20 million to 30 million range since mid-June, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data,” reported the outlet. “However, during the week of August 21, following Megan’s revealing August 20 livestream, Tory’s streams plummeted by nearly 9 million—a 40% drop from the previous week’s 22 million streams.”

After the article was published, Lanez, who has been radio silent for weeks, reached out to HotNewHipHop to refute the claims about his sales while making no mention of the altercation between him and his female colleague that made headlines.

“Lmao that’s such a lie. 40% where?!!,” he responded on the publication’s Twitter, then clarified, “I have twenty-seven million monthly listeners on Spotify currently.”

Although the entertainer is claiming he has seen no notable drop in listeners due to the current controversy, his female collaborators have made it clear how they feel about the allegations against him.

Singer Kehlani removed his verse from her upcoming deluxe album, explaining, “As someone with a large platform, as someone that people look up to, as a woman that makes other women feel safe and empowered, people, were asking me, ‘Are you gonna keep somebody on it who doesn’t necessarily make us feel safe or empowered as a woman?’”

“And not only that but, you know, this situation was involving someone that I [am] extremely close to,” she continued. “So I just felt like on some loyal sh*t, and on some do the right thing, you have to be responsible. Absolutely I’m changing up the record.”

Now singer JoJo is following suit, and expressed a similar sentiment when asked if she would remove Lanez from their collaboration “Comeback.”

“As soon as the allegations came out, I started talking to my team,” she said while stopping by Quibi’s Close Up By E! News. “I can’t support this person, I have to distance myself.”

This dude is guilty as fuck. I've been plenty wasted, never thought of pulling the hammer out and aiming it anyone I know......

His mainstream rap career is over. His image is based on being the ladies man. Thats hard to pull off when they think you will shoot them. He may still put out music, but alot of women not fucking with him at all.

man, this whole situation is so fucking disappointing as a fan.

I've seen dude grinding since I think 2014. His year started great, left a major label with his masters and his full publishing catalog....touring fucked with tours, but he had clicks on IG popping pussy and got offers to take his "show" elsewhere and use his talents towards other things.....like dude had a series of wins and bags rushing to him....

Then he does this sucka ass shit......

Career done for

I know some people think it's minor, but he could have killed that girl... like we could have been making RIP Meg , she was so young blah blah blah posts about this woman. All because of a little bitch ass. Fuck his streams I hope he gets dropped by his label and no one ever works with his ass again,

Eh, everyone will forgive and forget. RKelly became the RNBthug god during the peak of the pedo scandal. Chris Brown bounced back harder than ever. Fuck all them suckas.

Eh, everyone will forgive and forget. RKelly became the RNBthug god during the peak of the pedo scandal. Chris Brown bounced back harder than ever. Fuck all them suckas.

CB was wrong for what happened with RiRi, however, they were both young and even Rihanna....but also remember

What video? And Chris never shot Rihanna

In the history of all black music there has never been a scenario of a popular black male shooting a black female star.....

This is some next level n-word ish....they gotta make an example of Tory...the majority of blacks can't say protect black women, women's equality....etc and let this ish slide
