We watch the NBA because it entertains us. A select few watch it because they have been around long enough to earn a love for the game and a certain way to play it. With that said, I don't think that there were too many people NOT rooting for Kobe Bryant to break Wilt's record in the game against Golden State. Enough with the purist BS.

do you mean toronto?

either way, that's irrelevant to the topic...

as i mentioned in the post you quoted, i ALSO was critical of coach riley's padding of kareem abdul jabbar's double figure scoring record... would people appreciative of the sport have LESS regard for kareem abdul jabbar had he gone 10 fewer games scoring in double figures? NO. 20 fewer? NO. 50 fewer? NO.

but i'll tell you who MIGHT be less appreciative... stupid, superficial FANboys...

similarly, and to return to the point, would people appreciative of the sport be LESS appreciative if tobe had finished the raptors game with 77 instead of 81? NO.

but i'll tell you who MIGHT be less appreciative... stupid, superficial FANboys...

Even if it kills you to witness a player becoming a part of history, or simply having a fantastic game (like Lebron's game today against Phoenix), just enjoy the sport.

is this comment addressed towards me? uh, where in ANY of my posts have i indicated that tobe's scoring against the raptors slightly or remotely even bothered me?

i'm starting to become both amused and troubled at the unreasonable inferences being made IN SPITE of the plain english used in my statements...

It is about the comments made by Vince Carter....I am not saying whether I agree with them or not, but I will
give the man credit for saying what he really feels
instead of just aping the company line like 99% of players
will do to retain their jobs....

His comments are all too rare. A man who will say what
is on his mind instead of what he is required to say
Dapz Vince

i happen to agree with vince carter's comments... but forget that vince carter learned the game under coach smith, because now he's a hater and a hypocrite

forget coach silas' comments... he's a proven failure and a loser...

forget david thompson's comments about it being comparatively easier to score in today's league... he's just an ancient doped out has been...

:smh:

let's try this again...

hmmm.... charley rosen wrote this today... any of it sound familiar?

whoops, i better stop downplaying people... :smh:

Yes, someone has to score for the Lakers, and who better than Kobe? It should also be noted that even though Kobe's adherence to the triangle is a "sometimes thing," the hard-to-plot player movements inherent in the offense made it difficult for Toronto to double-team Kobe (simply because designating Smush Parker's defender, say, to be the two-timer, won't work if Parker is unexpectedly three passes away on any given set — and so on.).

However, one of the prime reasons why Lamar Odom, for example, has not developed into a reliable scorer is simply because he doesn't get sufficient touches at the right times and in the right places. The same can be said about Parker, Brian Cook, Devean George and, to a certain extent, even Chris Mihm. Secondary and tertiary scorers are vitally important, and both their abilities and responsibilities must be carefully developed during the course of a season. Mainly due to Kobe's shot-happy game, this hasn't happened.

Also, when players are basically reduced to standing around and watching one of their teammate's taking the lion's share of the shots, they tend to lose their competitive edge. This means they won't run, rebound, pass, cut and defend to the best of their abilities.

Much like Chamberlain's 100-point bonanza, there was also a circus atmosphere about Kobe's feat. His mounting point-total became more important than the game. How many points would the likes of LeBron, A.I., Arenas, Carter, T-Mac and Nowitzki score if they were allowed to take 60 or more (mostly hand-fed) shots per game?

Kobe's achievement is merely a logical extension of what he's wanted to do during his entire NBA career. In the long run, however, what's good for Kobe — and what understandably excites the sports public (including me) — isn't necessarily good for the Lakers.

do you spend too much time rehearsing with your village people tribute band?

as you observed (after i pointed it out for you  ) those quotes belong to OTHER people... kinda pokes holes in your FANboy theory that i downplayed tobe...

still waiting for the exposure, son... those quotes belong to OTHER people... the BEST you could extrapolate is that OTHER people were downplaying tobe's performance, but your hypersensitive BITCH ass played your own damn self...

Are you really this dumb, or is it an act on the board  I mean really :smh:

I know the quotes are from other people dumb ass. The fact is you are still taking the time out of your busy life(btw you owe me for my taxes supporting your no job having ass) doing google searches to find shit about Kobe Bryant Obsession. It's bad enough this is a board about women...which you don't discuss, instead you focus on Kobe. That shits suspect like a muthafucka.

let's see... YOU:

1. check the SPORTS board (and presumably others) to see how often i post

2. take note of the days i 'take off' from posting

and yet you suggest that i have an obsession? :smh:

what a pathetic, cyber stalking homosexual you are :(

Bitch you made an announcement you weren't going to be on the board...for a whole day. Which is some of the gayest shit I've ever seen up here. Like you were reporting to your boss. Like we gave a fuck and missed your fuckin presence.

I unlike you post all over the board. It's pretty hard to miss your post. When I go to sports and I see Crabass as the last one posted in every Kobe topic. :smh:

u madd?

poor baby upset 'cause the fakers lost tonight... go get a bottle from your mama, son...

here's some quotes for you to (try and) read while she's changing your diaper...

from richard hamilton:

"We feel as though we have five superstars," Detroit's Richard Hamilton said. "If we want one guy to go out there and average 30, we can do that. But we know what we want at the end, a championship, and we know one guy can't guard five guys."

from coach saunders:

"It didn't matter if (Bryant) had 50, 40, 20, 10 -- the idea was for us to win," Saunders said. "The idea was not to try to expose our defense where all the sudden, you have other guys that have career games."

now run along and find BNOL...
