ah, someone who can talk basketball
do you mean toronto?
either way, that's irrelevant to the topic...
as i mentioned in the post you quoted, i ALSO was critical of coach riley's padding of kareem abdul jabbar's double figure scoring record... would people appreciative of the sport have LESS regard for kareem abdul jabbar had he gone 10 fewer games scoring in double figures? NO. 20 fewer? NO. 50 fewer? NO.
but i'll tell you who MIGHT be less appreciative... stupid, superficial FANboys...
similarly, and to return to the point, would people appreciative of the sport be LESS appreciative if tobe had finished the raptors game with 77 instead of 81? NO.
but i'll tell you who MIGHT be less appreciative... stupid, superficial FANboys...
is this comment addressed towards me? uh, where in ANY of my posts have i indicated that tobe's scoring against the raptors slightly or remotely even bothered me?
i'm starting to become both amused and troubled at the unreasonable inferences being made IN SPITE of the plain english used in my statements...
Havoc said:"coach jackson should've benched tobe regardless of the point scoring milestone looming ahead... any coach who helps players to pad stats is flirting with tarnishing the sport..."
We watch the NBA because it entertains us. A select few watch it because they have been around long enough to earn a love for the game and a certain way to play it. With that said, I don't think that there were too many people NOT rooting for Kobe Bryant to break Wilt's record in the game against Golden State. Enough with the purist BS.
