threads dont last forever anymore?

i tried to find one about tax cuts and another one about the biological difference between men and women and they are both gone.

couldnt find them in archive either.

nah, the tax cut on was started by muckraer i think, it was a breakdown of what income bracket got what percentage of tax breaks.

the women/men thread talked about the harvard president and the trouble he caused. forgot who started it, but it had a good 30 replies.

and the somalia thread talked about the somalian parliment and warlords' truce. i'm almost certain that was started by makk.

its odd because there are older threads still around, so they didnt disappear from that.

also, i think there was a thread about german intelligence agency's involvment in the iraq war.

it was last year and it was about the truce and agreement then disagreement and barriers setup around the city in mogadishu etc
alot of threads were deleted - i thought after a few months threads would get torched and thats why que was bumping some better ones

is the backup board that used to exist dead? if so why? and i'd pay HNIC or pay myself to put up a backup board again

We lost a number of threads (I believe it was around a hundred) several months ago when a site upgrade was attempted that didn't work out so well and the admin'tors reverted back to the software/format/server we are presently using. I've started a number of new threads on topics I was all but certain had been in existence.

i thought the lost threads were the threads that were started after the upgrade.

i've updated one of the threads i was looking for since the upgrade/downgrade happened.

anyway, i see a thread on the main board complaining about the same thing.

i made this thread because there was no method to the madness.

Bruh,

There was a discussion on this boad this morning about deleted threads -- at that time thre were over 14,500 threads in existence on the Politics board. Apparently, they were deleted mid morning. I'd like to know whether they can be restored as a few people put a lot of work into the discussions and those threads are updated and/or tell a story over developments over time. I know people put a lot of time in the pussy threads ... but this board (as you know) is a little different. There is no natural draw ... it has taken quite a bit of my time to get and keep it going.
