Yeah, I peeped these on Aliexpress about 2 years ago. My only doubt is how well the climate control interface works.
same as they do on the original factory as well as all other controls that would be on an oem screen.
Yeah, but these are Android based. I bought one these 8" Android head units for the ex about 3 years ago. OEM look/fit and worked good, but every now and then it would freeze up or slow down just like an Android phone. Wouldn't want to deal with that when it comes to my A/C and heat.
you probably got one with low ram memory. there are places that sell cheap ones with 1gb of system memory. and some generally just don't have decent software in them. i'm selective of which models i sell. they cost more, but customers don't complain, plus because they are the better models i can extend the warranty on them.
They have wifi?
yup most have wifi some have 3g/4g sim connectivity.

these are a watered down version of my idea
i wanted to go full tesla features plus mesh networking for seamless connectivity
all apps including google voice and fully functional browser
5g of course (when available)
