This is one of the main reasons that China is buying every piece of gold that is available, no matter what the price is at the moment. They're hedging their bets against the collapse of the U.S. dollar. They may suffer extreme economic conditions in the short term if it happens, but they will recover faster due to their BRICS' alliances and the ability to trade in gold..
