this is why a dumbass has damn near no chance of becoming more intelligent. he/she lacks EXACTLY the self awareness and self assessment necessary to realize just how much a DUMBASS he/she is.

this explains: racists' inability to realize they are racists, corrupt cops' inability to realize they are corrupt (that is until they put a bullet in their own heads) and any other jackass who thinks he is an expert or well informed on a subject when he obviously is not.

when you KNOW you're uninformed/unskilled or weak in an area, you are able to seek edification, but when you think you already know everything you CANT GET ANY WISER, because YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW you're an idiot.

I won't go that far, not it was said in tongue in cheek.. But I will say this, people who are less smart tend to assume they know more than they do..
They will argue and even dispute fact before even researching them, they tend to look at right and wrong from the vantage point of whether they like it or not..
More intelligent people tend to assume they don't know, even when they feel they know, and would often research shit before commenting in ignorance...
Most intelligent people refuse to talk or debate people who are not that intelligent because they feel, like the video that they are unable to learn and trying to educate them is a wast of time and resources...
Me on the other hand am on a mission to elevate my people, by teaching them to elevate their thinking..
A lot of time I get a lot of flack for it, nevertheless its better than turning my nose up in the air vowing never to give pearls to swine..
 
I would give the board this gem... And even if you never listen to a word I ever said, listen to this, and you will automatically be ten time smarter that what you were before (assuming you are new to this concept)...
By assuming that "at first" you don't know when you think you know, you will be ten times smarter..

It's called the Dunning-Kruger Effect. It also explains why people who are good at shit mistakenly think that everyone else should be good at it too.

main reason i posted this is cause some comic book artists dont know they arent good. they can't "see" that their perspective is WAY off, their lines are mad inconsistent, their scenes are badly drafted and their figures are flat.

all they know is that when they drew as a child people always told them: "that shit is TIGHT son!"
 


Knowledge- especially knowledge of self- is humbling yet freeing. I didn't know how much I didn't know until I knew more...
