Here are the details of the meeting until 3am: IT WAS NOT A HOSTAGE SITUATION...lol.

She still remembers every detail of the meeting: she wore a blue boob tube, white trousers and white boots, and sang Pon de Replay, a ballad from her album called The Last Time, and Whitney Houston's For the Love of You.
"There was no music. Just me," she says. "Jay-Z was so cool. He was sitting on the couch and he went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. Everything was done in a very professional manner but he made me feel so at ease and able to do my best. He did not let me leave until three in the morning when I had signed with him. Lol there has got to be something to this they are keeping out like she was joking and so were they. Man are they really after Jay-Z. They trusted him with a lot of money that they would not trust certain blacks with. We saw what happened to Muammar Gaddafi. She couldn’t have landed at a better place. Fefe Dobson was not popping like they expected, so they brought in Rhi Rhi, feed her all the hits, and she executed the plays flawlessly.
Lol...RiRi had to fight for those hits, though. It didn't come easy. Umbrella was marked for another artist until she convinced Dream to give it to her then Jay Z hopped on at the last minute after the recording was done. & Pon De Replay was for Christina Milian until Christina didn't want to do it. Also, all eyes were on Teairra Marí when RiRi entered the Def Jam fold, many saw her as the future not Lil Sunshine.

Mary J wanted ‘Umbrella’, but legend has it, but for Jay-Z on the song Dream would have given it to the more established artist, and the rest is history. There would be no Rhianna without Jay-Z.
