All four current Black Republican House members — Byron Donalds (FL), John James (MI), Wesley Hunt (TX), and Burgess Owens (UT) — will not be seeking re-election to the House in 2026.
Donalds and James are running statewide campaigns, Hunt lost a Senate primary bid, and Owens is retiring after redistricting reshaped his district. No Black Republican candidates are currently positioned to win House seats in 2026.
