I had some younger people from my job in my car. so I threw on some of my cd's. And from that day my nickname has been 'Old'School'. I stopped listening to the radio a few years ago cause everything I heard was garbage. There are tons of post on here with thousands of albums available (they do still call them albums, right?). Problem is, i'm not even sure where to begin for quality.

Can a few of you list some current, quality full albums. I don't need you to upload them, I can find them. And i'm interested in all musical styles, not just Hip Hop.

Today I was talking about Dbarge and the youngin asked was I talking about Chico and I told him I'm talking about all of them. He just looked lost.

You shoulda took it as a compliment. These young mofos don't know shit about good music (for the most part).
 
It's bad I had some young boys at my job tell me that Biggie and Tupac were old-school I just looked at them and shook my head.:smh:

SO WHAT !!! Man you ain't got nothing to be ashamed of. Rep your age. You'll be suprised how alot of these younger cats can't even compete with an older or middle age cats with some of the things that go on in the world much less the quality of music you listen to. Not all music today garbage. Just keep your ear to the radio, pick out what you like and take take a chance on the album. Too easy.

My nigga,I gave my nephew copies of A tribe called quest first three albums to listen to because they were 'shittin' on Q-Tip.After they listen to it,they were shocked.Then,I gave them the Mobb Deep album that Q-Tip mixed.He almost shit on himself!!!!:lol::lol::lol:
 
Not "New" per say, but you should check out the first 3 Weezer albums. It's rock, but those guys are talented. The Blue Album (1994) is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Also one of the most slept on albums ever.

John Legend's "Get Lifted" is still a terrific album to this day.
 
lol...that happened to me too. Cats called Wu-Tang old school. I nearly lost it. Then I remembered that Wu dropped over 10 years ago. Time flies kid...

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the youngsters think, they usually don't know shit from shinola. If you're bumping "good" ole skool music, fuck it.... They don't call em classics for nothing. As far as steering you in the right direction, that would be a little difficult without knowing your taste. But in general, pick up the latest Common, Talib, Jill Scott and Mary when she drops. Don't play yourself rocking the new Solja Boy, keep things in perspective, it'll all be good.
